A bold barbecue sauce gets smoky heat from chipotle peppers, and rich depth of flavor from whiskey. This recipe makes a big batch, enough for a crowd or to bottle.

The name says it all. This tasty and different sauce is a snap to whip up. Onion soup mix is combined with ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire. It cooks up sweet and thick and with a definite taste of onion. Great on just-barbecued steak.

Hot and spicy sauce, great on pulled pork or grilled chicken. If you have a pressure canner, make a big batch to can, and store for up to one year.

And we thought blackberry jam was only for toast. Here it is stirred up with ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, cayenne and red wine vinegar. The result is a sweet, pungent sauce that is great for pork, duck or ribs.

This recipe has been passed down by word of mouth in our fire station for years! It is fabulous and you can control how hot it is by how much red pepper you add. Please note that the longer it sits, the hotter it gets! Great on chicken, pork, and just about anything you can think of. Try it on a cracker with a slice of cheese!

Crushed fennel seeds give this easy sauce a distinctive flavor. Great as a dip or for glazing ribs or chicken.

A thick, sticky sauce to slather onto anything edible. It cooks all night in the slow cooker.

This is a very simple Carolina style vinegar based BBQ sauce. A friend of the family gave us this recipe several years ago and after a few tweaks and additions, this is the best BBQ sauce that I've ever had. You combine all of the ingredients and then enjoy. This is easily scaled up or down.

This sauce gets its sweetness from apple juice, honey, brown sugar, and molasses, and its tang from vinegar, ketchup, and spices.
