This is a WONDERFUL soup! I threw all of it in my stockpot last night, and stuck it in the fridge. This morning I heated it to simmering, and it is near done, and the taste and smell is great! I did not fix the macaroni, and I don't think I will, and was out of ground beef, so quartered and sliced some smoked sausage. It seems to be a full bodied soup as it is. Only flaw was maybe Jackie the submitter meant 2 QUARTS of water? But no biggie, have made plenty of homemade soups, and know to adjust the liquid and or broth level to our likings, and if I up the liquid, know to adjust the seasonings and or bouillon too. This will go so well with French crusty bread. Can't wait til dinner!
