This is a very delishous meal! My family devoured it and wanted more. Very tasty and I will make this a "regular" dish from now on!

Very delish! I used beef consomme and enough water to cover the meat. The minced garlic infused into the broth and gave off a wonderful aroma. Make sure to use the beef stock in the sauce, it really adds a meaty flavor in the finished sauce. So good.

This is very good, although I made just a couple changes: used 2 green peppers instead of 1, a can of diced tomatoes and a small can of tomato paste at the end to add more tomato flavor, and some italian seasoning in addition to the basil and oregano. As another reviewer suggested, I added more water the first hour. Also, I may use a little less salt next time. The salt in the tomatoes and the salt in the flour mixture may have been too much. My three boys and husband loved this served over whole wheat maccaroni!

I made this for dinner last night (with a few changes) and my family enjoyed it. I used tomato sauce AND diced tomatoes. I also added Worcestershire sauce, mustard and olives to add a little more zip. I served my round steak over rice and it was excellent. I made mine on the stove, but think it would be very good in a crock pot as well.

This was a very easy recipe. I love basil so I increased the amount to 1/2 tsp. After browning the meat, I cooked the garlic a little and then added all the ingredients at once instead of adding during the last 30 minutes. The tomato sauce tenderized the meat and the sauce had a richer taste because it cooked longer. I would make this again!

Really tasty. Did not dredge in flour, but browned it before work at 6:30 am, added garlic & water. My 18 yo son took it out of the refrig where it was stored in a covered casserole. He put it in the oven at 300 for 2 hours. I came home & finished it on the stove per recipe and brought it to the neighbor's for a home warming meal with bread & whole wheat noodles. Could make it a little healthier by adding any more vegs. Neighbors seemed to really like it.

The meat was really tender, but I think the sauce needed lots more spices. It was too bland for my taste.

i made this tonight and it turned out very well. i how ever didnt use the mushrooms or peppers, for my bf wont eat anything. i did brown some garlic cloves in oil and then removed them before browning the steaks. and after i added the sauce i grated fesh parmesan and mozzrella cheese on top. along side some crusty bread and ceaser salad, this was a great summer meal for us.

This was very good and different. The round steak was more expensive than I though (~$4/pd.) and I wondered if there was a better choice. Was very tender and tasty, though.

My family and I loved this meal. I cut the extra fat off the steaks and tenderized the steaks with a mallet. I made twice as much homemade sauce as the recipe called for and warmed a pot of extra sauce for the noodles (from a jar) since I like lots of sauce. I had monterey jack, swiss, and mozzarella cheese so it was EXTRA cheesy...yum yum! Thanks for the recipe!

This recipe is quite tasty and was a great way to use the round steak we had on hand. We didn't make any changes and will make again. Thank you!

My family really liked this but instead of the pasta I served it with potatoes - another recipe from AllRecipes. I cut the meat into 1/2 inch thick strips instead and only had to cook it for 45 minutes. It was a very good Sunday meal.

My family loves this! 2 modifications- I use diced tomatoes instead of the tomato sauce and red peppers instead of green. (it was just what I had on hand when I first made it) I actually serve this in steak-size pieces with no pasta for a low-carb alternative. Always check it as you are simmering, as I have had to add more water to the pan to keep from burning it. I will definitely continue to make this one!
