I was pleasantly surprised with this soup. When I told my hubby I was making Italian sausage soup his response was "YUCK"... Let me tell you, when he tasted it ,he LOVED it. The soup is very tasty w/out alot of added spices. I used HOT Italian sausage and the soup had just a little kick to it. It was truly a fabulous soup and much bettre than I thought it would be. I am adding this to my recipe box as a favorite soup. ENJOY!!!

I skipped the beans and spinach and added tortelini- Pretty much I combined this recipe with Tortelini Sausage SoupI from this website and it was excellent. We ate it all week and loved it. This is great for a cold New England night...

I made this dish tonight exactly as the recipe specified and it was so wonderful. My husband loved it and my kids (ages 4 and 6) were actually making "mmmm" sounds as they ate! I will absolutely add this to our family recipe book to be made again and again.

Wow, I thought I deleted/misplaced this recipe!!! The troops would have revolted! Phew! now everything is great because, since last year when I started making this soup, it has become one of the top 3 winter favorites and top 10 year round soups to have. What a GREAT SOUP!

This soup is AWESOME. I've made it several times for several occasions and everyone has raved about it. I keep several copies of the recipe on hand because it never fails - several people always ask for the recipe.

Great soup.... it's nice to have on winter days... Only thing that concerned me when making it is that it seemed a bit oily. When preparing next time I'll be sure to drain the sausage a little better. Thanks!

This was delicious! My boyfriend and I loved it! I am so happy that I tried this. I did take some other reviewers suggestions and added one can of corn (drained) and 8 oz of cheese tortellini! I will be making this again and again!!

Awesome recipe. I know it's wrong to change the recipe then rate it, so let me say I've tried it as written and it it wonderful. So now let me tell you my changes. First off, this soup is so good I doubled it so my additions are for twice as much. Trust me, it's that good. I used 1 lb. hot and 1 lb. mild sausage casings removed. And 1 small diced red onion when browning the sausage with the garlic. I upped the garlic to 3 cloves. 5 cans of beef broth, 3 cans of tomatoes, 3 carrots dided, 4 yellow squash diced, 4 zuchinni diced, 3 cans of northern white beans. 3 bags of fresh baby spinach, and 1 bag of frozen white corn added at the end. I honestly think this is "THE" best soup I've had from this site. I have tried many and enjoyed many but this is my new favorite. Thanks to SallyJun. Killer soup.

I really love this recipe. Since we only buy kosher meat, it is hard to find "italian sausage" so instead I use kielbasa (spicy sausage) and it tastes great. also I was thinking- this could easily go vegetarian if someone uses morningstar sausage links which are really good.

This is one of the absolute best new additions to my cooking repertoir in a long time!!! It is easy, quick, inexpensive and DELICIOUS!!! I pretty much followed the original recipe, but there are so many ways yiou can change it if you need variation... Add mushrooms for mushroom lovers; corn; all kinds of veggies... You name it, it can all go in the soup and it would still be as delicious as the original! I have made it several times with slight variations and always with the same result: family and friends finish every bite and more often than not ask for the recipe! THANK YOU!!!

Like everyone says- this is excellent! Judging by the name, I wouldn't have thought this to be so good! I did use 2# of italian sausage instead of 1, and it was perfect. I used half frozen spinach, half fresh spinach. My boyfriend added rice to his, and next time I may add corn. I will definetly make this again soon!

This is awesome soup. I am not a great cook and tried this and it came out perfect. I used a frozen spinach box, as suggested by others and it was great. Full of flavor and easy! It was even better the next few days! I am making a batch for a party this weekend. Can't wait!!
