This is a great soup. My husband & I love it. I use dried italian herb instead of the thyme. I used a 16oz can of diced tomatos & fresh tortellini. So good. Have made this about 4 times & I have yet to be disappointed.

my husband and I absolutely loved this soup. Very tasty. I agree with Crystal on using 6 cups of broth instead of 5. Great Great dish.

Used chicken sausage (mild Italian) and chicken broth instead of beef broth. Also substituted two cans of diced tomatoes. Really good and low in calories as well. I will use a spicy sausage next time and that will push it to five stars!

I made this for a friend recovering from surgery. It was the perfect fit, filling without being too heavy. I enjoyed sampling her soup & later making a batch for myself!

This is really, really good! Worth every positive review it got! Canned tomatoes are fine! Used both beef and chicken broth and the wine is a must! I wouldn't change much.... It truly is fantastic! Oh...and quick and easy! You won't be disappointed!

This soup is absolutely awesome....I couldn't believe it...I actually made it a couple of days ago and then didn't have it until today. Its full of flavor and one of the best soups I have made....I made it with canned tomatoes...4 cans...diced... and I doubled the sausage meat. The only wine I had on hand was a bottle of merlot so used that. It was delicious. Let it sit in the fridge for a day and skimmed off the fat....Now sending to all my friends...thanks for the recipe....its definitely a 5 star..
