Great soup that my family has made for years...try adding red, yellow, orange or green bell peppers for something different.

Very good and easy to substitute ingredients if you're missing something. I also cut a few minutes off the cooking time and it was still excellent.

I didn't personally eat this. I made it for my parents to give my mom a day off from cooking. My dad loved it. I accidentally used the hot sausage though so it was extremely spicy. If you like spicy then I'd suggest that sausage to kick it up a notch! I also added in a can of cannellini beans. Heard it was great from my parents...will have to try it myself!

I made this in my slow cooker (added the tortellini in the last hour) and it was wonderful. Entire family loved it. Just what you needed on a cold winter day.

Like most people, I prepared this dish for company. Instead of zucchini, I followed some previous commenters and put in spinach and mushrooms. It was a big hit!!! So I will be making it again tonight for me and my husband as we didnt get to have much of it the first time :)

EVERYONE loved this soup! Adults AND kids! I even made extra, and there still wasn't any left at the end of the night....which was a little disappointing only because that meant I couldn't have it for lunch the next day!

My husband really loved this one. I made it with spicy italian sausage and it was just right for us. I will definately make this one again.

I just finished two bowls of this soup right after making it, it's the tastiest most flavorful soup I've made in a long time. I didn't have any tomato paste, and substituted tomato pasta sauce, a little extra, and it turned out just as well. I also added a little white wine as I was simmering the garlic and onions to deglaze the brown bits from browning the sausage. A hit with my husband as well. Well done!

This soup was delicious! I added more beef broth and a little seasoning salt. Also, one package of italian sausage didn't seem like it was enough so I cooked and added piece of hot ground pork sausage I had on hand, as well as some ground beef. I also added a little more red wine. My husband and I ate this for like three days. That's how much we liked it.

Excellent recipe. I've made a few times and change the recipe slightly based on what I have available. I especially like adding baby spinach at the end with the pasta. I use reduced sodium stock and add a little more stock, water and wine than in the recipe. I use mild sausage to accomodate everyone, but would be even better with hot sausage.

My family loved this recipe. It is so quick and easy to put together and cook. I did leave out the carrots and zucchinni. i used white cooking wine. I was out of the red cooking wine. I will cook this again.

Delicious! I've made this 4 times in as many weeks (some to share with neighbors)... To simplify preparation, I used undrained petite cut diced tomatoes (28 oz) instead of dicing my own. I used 6 oz. can of tomato paste, all dry herbs, and omitted the red wine as it's not a staple in my home. My picky 2-year-old will eat it, too. Bonus!
