Yum, yum, yum! We loved this using hot Italian sausages, and stuffed it all into hoagie buns. Will make this again and again.

We've been trying to find something different to do with Italian turkey sausage besides add it to spaghetti. This was an EXCELLENT alternative. My boyfriend loves it.

Great recipe! I did not use the herbs because I did not have any fresh ones and was not sure how old my dried ones were. I believe the flavors from the sausage added to the mix perfectly. My little guy is a picky meat eater but loved the sausage. I am defiantly putting this into the rotation! Thanks for sharing!

Loved it! We actually only had onions and peppers let over and I am thinking of what to do with just them, I can't just throw them away - they have the BEST FLAVOR EVER!

This recipe was very simple and was good. I used hot Italian sausage instead of sweet sausage because we prefer the spicy sausage. I served it on toasted Italian sub rolls with melted provolone. I would definitely make these again, but, I think I will let the onions and peppers carmelize more before adding the white wine.

I usually make sausage and peppers with a tomato sauce, which I enjoy over pasta. This was a really nice change - especially if you like to eat it on italian rolls. We enjoyed it a lot. I think I did 4x the recipe though so I could freeze it for later. If you are going through the trouble of making it, why not make more?

This was a great recipe, and easy to follow. Made it one night and the next day used the leftovers in wraps for lunch. Great dish to serve when having a few friends over. Thanks for a great recipe.

Simple. Fantastic. No changes in recipe needed, but if you don't like red onions leave em out like I do.

I made this both the "traditional" way of browning the sausage and as more of a pasta sauce with crumbled sausage. When I made the "sauce" I added diced roma tomatoes. Both ways are excellent.

This was really good and easy. I browned my sausage and veggies then threw everything into the crockpot along with a can of tomatoes and left over spaghetti sauce. Everything else remained the same. I served this in bowls with fresh baguettes I made that day.

Excellent - brought this to a team meet dinner and it was a hit, esp with the adults! I deviated only slightly from the recipe - I placed a large can of diced tomatoes (seasoned with oregano, basil and garlic)in the slow cooker (on low). I browned 16 sausage links (8 hot/8 sweet) as I cut up one very large spanish onion, 1 green pepper, 1 red pepper & 1 yellow pepper. When the sausage was done I sliced them into chunks and put them in the slow cooker. I added a wee bit of garlic into the pan (after wiping out the sausage fat)and sauteed the garlic & onions, then I added the peppers and a few minutes after that added 1/3 cup of red wine. After most of the wine was cooked into the peppers, I added them to the crockpot and cooked on low for 2 hours. The dish smelled AMAZING and at the dinner later I received rave reviews - I can't wait to make again!
