Surprisingly delicious!!! I didn't put hot pepper sauce in because of my two toddlers but still yummy and they both ate it up!

This was good and easy, I just thought it was a little bland. My husband loved it though! So I'll be making it again. Next time I'll use flavored canned tomatoes and maybe some more seasonings.

thanks for this recipe! I didn't have Italian sausage so I used our local supermarket's bulk country pork sausage. I had 1 1/4 lbs of it so I added an extra 1/2 cup of rice and 2/3 cup water. Then I added 1 bay leaf and some Herbes de Provence (I guess I could have used Italian herbs but couldn't find them), left out the salt to reduce the sodium, used frozen mixed veggies since I didn't have just peas, plus 3/4 can drained and rinsed red kidney beans. It turned out so tasty! family members then spiced it up on their own plates with either more hot sauce or chipotle sauce, or fresh chopped jalapeno from our garden. The kidney beans really made the difference.

I used tomato sauce as I didn't have canned tomatoes and garlic powder as I didn't have 'real' garlic today (I couldn't believe it either!) and yet it turned out great. It was quick and easy and uses everyday ingredients. My only complaint was the appearance - the peas saved it from being really bad but it was still not good and therefore couldn't be served to company. Next time I'll add some red pepper too to see how that changes the appearance and flavour.

Very nice one-meal dish. Made it using hot Italian sausage which really added flavor and heat. Also added half chopped red pepper for more variety. Very good, easy to make after work too. I would mix it up trying different sausages too. Thanks!

Wonderful!! I needed a quick and easy recipe that use ingredients i had on hand! I used Cayenne pepper instead of the sauce and I also used canned green beans because that is all i had. I also used some seasoning salt and garlic salt. Wonderful and spicy!! OHHH I also used ready-cut diced w/green chilies & spices for the tomatoes.. like I said i used what i had and it turned out great with no extra expense!!

This stuff is really very good. I've made it a few times now so I thought it was time to write a review. I don't make many changes to the recipe; just leave out the hot sauce, add about half a cup of diced red pepper, and make sure to use a good sized clove of garlic. This meal is full of flavor and I can whip it quickly on a week night after work. It's good, it's easy, and very tasty. Thanks for a vey good recipe!

Just made this dinner tonight. made a few modifications as it was an "on hand" meal. Used white rice, and added 1/2 red and 1/2 green peppers, and 1 can large peas drained. Also added a couple (4) splashes Tobasco to add some zip. worked out well. just need to be careful not to over do the tobasco. next time will use the frozen peas as they did come out a bit soft.

This was not my favorite. I made it like the recipe said and learned I do not like Italian sausage. While the flavor was good, I think it would have been better with a different kind of sausage. Next time I'll try this with a different kind of sausage, maybe smoked sausage of some sort.

I just found this site while looking for a different way to cook my italian sausages. It sounded good and I thought well its a one potter which is always my fav! It was nice. I was not fussy on the brand of sausages I used. I read the reviews first and bumped up the hot sauce. I also saw where someone added egg and thought ooooh that sounds gooood. So I did too! It was a good recipe but not something I would probably make on a regular basis. But it could have had something to do with the brand of sausages. They were quite tough and tasteless.

My family loved this. I used fresh tomatoes instead of canned and didn't have the juice that comes from canned tomatoes so it was a little less tomatoey! (Is that a word?) I also used frozen mixed veggies instead of just peas. Anyway, the family loved it and said to cook it anytime! It's very easy as well.

This is a great starter recipe for a fried rice. It's so easy to make up and you can add or chang anything. I put exta eggs in mine. I also think next time I will try chicken or shrimp. The only thing about it I did not like was the tomatoes? Not sure but the fried rice I normally eat does not have tomatoes. Good recipe to play with! Thanks

Good recipe, but the addition of some water chestnut slices and scrambled eggs made it even better. Tasty when made and still good as left overs.

I thought that this recipe was pretty good. Though I felt that there wasn't enough "BAM" to it. So I added some Cumin (1/2 Tablespoon, Italian Seasoning ( 1/2 Tablespoon) and then about a 1/4 to 1/2 cup of Black Beans. Made the dish much more meatier! Also I made it with Turkey Sausage, also a good addition!

Seriously easy and good! Even my 15 month old liked it. Left out the hot sauce because of my little ones and added Italian seasoning instead. We only ate half of it tonight and I'm wondering how the leftovers will taste (rice doesn't always reheat well). To keep it from being too dry I think I'll simmer it with a little tomato sauce or pasta sauce when we eat the rest.

I tried this recipe last night and it was WONDERFUL!! It is definitely a keeper. I did use tomatoes with basil & garlic instead of the plain diced tomatoes.
