Just made this and it is delicious. I like this because it is a lighter version, less acidic. Thanks Maxine Johnson for sharing your delicious recipe with us.

easy, tasty, ingredient list typically on hand...a winner of a recipe! Thank you, my whole family loved this! (We used Good Seasons Zesty Italian" with amazing results.)

I love Italian dressing, and a great "short cut" to get there in a pinch when you're short on time yet still have great flavor is to use "Good Seasons" salad dressing mix. I love the "concept" of this, however I think the measurements may be off... This calls for way too much sugar, vinegar, water, and oil unless the packet they're referring to is huge. The packet I used was 0.7 oz. so I used 1/4 cup of white wine vinegar, 3 Tbsp. of water, and 1/2 cup of olive oil then added the garlic and 1 tsp. of sugar. You can even lighten this up even further by replacing 1/4 cup of oil with 1/4 cup of water and using 1/2 tsp of splenda instead of sugar.

It's been around since I was a kid and there's nothing original about it. It's great dressing, I like it too. But it certainly isn't original.

Best Dessing EVER! I am always looking for just the right salad dressing, and this makes quite a big jar, so when I make it I find I eat a lot more salad b/c it is so handy to have such a delicious recipe on hand! I use Splenda instead of sugar and it is amazing! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe!

Love this dressing. The fresh garlic is the key ingredient- do it a little in advance so the flavor of the garlic can really merry in. I prefer it with balsamic vinegar. Its good enough to use as a bread dip. So great.

I made this recipe just as written for my bunco group last nignt. I had only great comments people loved this dressing. I thougt the weird part was putting water in it but it was delicious.
