Italian Salad Croutons
SUBMITTED BY:
Ellen Benninger

"'These crisp buttery croutons are so good,' comments Ellen Benninger of Greenville, Pennsylvania. 'I don't know where I got the recipe, but I've been using it for more than 10 years.' Toss the croutons in a salad, garnish a bowl of soup with them or sprinkle them on top of a creamy casserole."

Very good. I didn't use butter--used olive oil, and I cooked them a bit longer, as I like my croutons very crunchy, but still good. I think this is a very good base recipe that you can easily play with. Thanks!

I was out of croutons, did not feel like going to the store, so I found this easy and quick recipe. They were delicious and my husband ate quite a few of them prior to them making it to the salad, and then the leftovers later! Highly recommended. I added a little extra seasoning. They were delicious.

This is a delicious recipe. Our family loved it. I think next time I might use some minced onion and some thyme or marjoram to add more flavor.
