Italian Meatball Sandwich Casserole Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 1)

Just fixed this recipe tonight. It was NOT good. I thought the recipe seemed odd with the inclusion of 1 cup of water with the sauce, but I followed it to the letter. The taste was OK, but the texture was horrible. The bread turned to a mushy pasty mess that ruined the dish. I guess the lesson is that if the recipe doesn't look right, trust your judgement. It may be better without the water, but I won't be trying it again to find out.

Just made this tonight and my husband and i loved it! I followed other reviewers and subd ricotta cheese for the mayo, omited the water, and used garlic bread baked crunchy first. Also added some chopped bells peppers. Yum! Will make again!

This is so good. I did not add water to the sauce and did not cube my bread. I just tore it up in pieces and placed them in the pan. I loved the mayo and cream cheese combo.

Ick. This seemed like a good idea but the bread didn't work at all.

We didn't care for this. I think it was the cream cheese that ruined it.

This was different and good. It makes quite a bit. The bread would have been better toasted also. Maybe I will make the bread into garlic croutons and try that next time. Thanks for a unique recipe!

I love this recipe, my children however did not seem to care for it but I did not mind eating the left overs. I would highly recommend this recipe for anyone that likes meatball sandwiches. Great recipe

This was so yummy!! I used previous suggestions and used ricotta instead of mayonnaise. I also used a roasted garlic bread instead of italian. I cubed it into crouton size pieces and baked it in the oven until nice and crispy. I used jar spaghetti sauce, but I should have used a little bit more, because it was a little bit dry. All and all, I will definitely make this again!
