WOW! What a versatile recipe. I liked it for dressing, but... it is really better on oven fries and roasted veggies. Just sprinkle dressing mix on veggies and toss with EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil). For extra quick and easy clean up line your baking pan with no-stick foil first. I did cut the salt in half. If you want your potatoes to be extra crispy sprinkle on a little more sugar. (you can't taste it, unless you get crazy with it)

Fantastic idea and great recipe! I've gotten tired of paying so much for store-bought dressings, some of them with a lot of high fructose corn syrup. I was looking for a dressing that is easy enough to whip up before a meal and found this one. Better yet -- Now I have a delicious mix of herbs and spices that I just need to add a few ingredients to. As recommended by several reviewers, I reduced the salt by about half and I'm glad I did. Thanks for the great recipe! We will be using this often!

This was great. :) I needed dry Italian dressing mix for the Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff on this site. I scaled it down to two servings, omitted the parsley (we're out) and the regular salt, and I added maybe 1/8 tsp celery seed. It was exactly what the recipe needed! Thanks for sharing, Debby!

Very tasty Italian. Very similar to my fav restaurant dssg that I used to pay $2.50 per bottle. Now I don't have to! I did take the advice of other reviewers...used garlic powder instead of garlic salt, cut the regular salt by have to 1 Tbsp and I also added a few drops of tabasco and a pinch of red pepper flakes. I also used Splenda instead of sugar. It was good when I first made it, but when I had it later that night after it had sat for awhile, WOW! Great flavors.

This is a fantastic recipe that I use time and time again. I knew a girl who worked at East Side Mario's, and she says this recipe tastes exactly like the italian dressing they use. Everyone who tries it loves it.

I used garlic powder rather than garlic salt, ground celery seed rather than celery salt, and reduced the salt to 1tsp, rather than 2T! This was just right for us. Used 1/4c white wine vinegar & EVOO. Great to have this on hand. Thanks, Debby!

I'm giving this a 3 star because I found it way too salty. It may be because I always use Kosher (coarse)salt and I think it's much more intense flavor, but it's still salt and I'm not sure if it would have fixed it enough using regular kitchen table salt. I even put less than called for b/c it seemed too much to start with. Other than that, I think it's very good and I will try it again but only use maybe a tsp. of my Kosher salt instead. My husband and I couldn't even finish our salads it was so salty.

Very good, but it was way too salty. I cut the salt from 2 TBSP to 3/4 tsp. and adjusted to taste after adding to salad.

This took less time to make than it does to walk down the grocery store aisle, pick out a bottle of dressing, and pay for it! I omitted the celery salt (as I didn't have any) and reduced the salt to 1 T. like everyone else said, and it was perfect. I will never pay for Italian dressing again! Thanks so much for the great recipe!

I liked this and will make it again, maybe cut down on the salt a little bit. I love salty foods, but yikes! This was pretty salty for me, but not so bad that we didn't eat it. Other than that it had wonderful flavor and is way better than bottled.

I thought this dressing was very good, and I followed the recipe exactly except for using only 1 tsp of salt. Now I can save a few dollars by making my own Italian dressing.

Great recipe! As others suggested, I cut the salt way down-to 1 tsp, and also used garlic powder instead of garlic salt. I've been trying to get my husband off the chemical laden bottled stuff for years. I think this will do the trick.

This was okay, but not great. I used it as a salad dressing base following the measurement instructions on the recipe. I skipped a lot of the salt per other reviewers. I had to add at least a tablespoon of sugar to give it more flavor. It seems to need something, maybe some Dijon mustard in the mix or really good, strong vinegar (I used white per the instructions). I also thought that the dried herbs were a little obnoxious in the mix, maybe I will run them through the blender next time to get smaller bits or maybe just use less parsley.

I loved this dressing mix! I keep it on hand to season other recipes too. To add a little more zing, I mix it up with some balsamic vinegar. It works great as a marinade for the grill.

I accidentally left out the salt. Thank goodness because it was plenty salty without it. I added a little red wine vinegar and in the future would only use red wine and half veg oil and half olive oil and reduce the oregano. It is a fairly close match for Good Seasons but needs some tweeking to get there. Overall very good.

To replicate the Zesty Good Seasons mix, add 1 tablespoon dried red and green bell pepper mix (found with the dried spices) plus 1 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes. Also, I suggest omitting the 2 tablespoons salt. You may want to add 1 tablespoon lemon pepper (not lemon pepper salt!) to increase the "zest." Experiment with balsamic vinegar, fruit juices (orange juice is great with red wine vinegar) and flavored oils. Side notes: Blend the vinegar and 2 tablespoons mix and let sit for at least 5 minutes before proceeding with the recipe. This helps dissolve the individual spices and herbs. The water is unnecessary. You only need that with the Good Seasons mix, for goodness knows what chemical reaction to occur. This dressing will not stay emulsified (mixed) when stored in the refrigerator. Just shake it up well before use.
