Like others, I used garlic powder and celery seed instead of salt. I still thought it was a little bit too salty. I didn't see anyone else say that, so it just must be our taste. Nice mixture to have on hand. I used it over Napa cabbage, slivered, sliced red onions and pickled eggs. Thanks!

My only complaint is that it is difficult to measure out the finished mix to add to the vinegar/oil mixture. The finer ingredients seem to settle into the bottom of the mix with the other seasonings on top.

I will never buy a mix again. I did use the recommended 2 T salt, but used garlic powder and celery seed instead of garlic salt & celery salt. If using sea salt reduce to 1 T salt. I will be using this mix for gifts.

Good. I am tired of paying the price for the dressing mix at the store!! I used garlic powder, dried onion, celery seed 1 1/2 Tbl. salt and rest of ingredients as stated then pulsed it all in my coffee grinder (which I use only for seasonings).

My dad uses so much italian dressing- he used to use the mix and make his own from that. I made some of this mix for him, gave him a copy of the recipe, and now he uses this instead-such a money saver!

Not bad. I used garlic powder instead of garlic salt and celery seed instead of celery salt. The white vinegar smells very zesty but it tastes fine. I might use a different vinegar next time and maybe olive oil instead of canola.

This is outstanding if you use red wine vinegar instead of white and add 2 teaspoons of honey when reconstituting.

This is the best dressing mix. I was in a pinch and could not run to the store for a bottle of italian dressing. Luckily I had all ingredients on hand. We do not use salt at all, so the salt was eliminated and also used garlic and onion powder, not salt. It was so fresh and delicious. Nothing like bottled dressing. I used it for a pasta salad, added chopped sun-dried tomatoes, salad supreme and a huge clove of elephant garlic. Took it to a gathering and it was devoured. Thank you for this wonder recipe.

this was great. i didn't have celery salt so i omitted it, used half the regular salt, and used olive oil instead of canola. my garlic salt also had parsley in it (mccormick's) but i still added the parsley the recipe called for as well. it wasn't too much, tasted great.

This is a good basic recipe. Not a lot of zIp. Next time I make I will try using a olive oil and balsamic vinegar like other reviewers suggested. I cut the salt in half and it was fine.

very tasty. I ended up adding in a hefty pinch more basil and black pepper as well as a splash of lemon juice once everything was blended up with the oil and vinegar. I also used fresh minced garlic instead of garlic salt to cut down on the salt content.

This was an excellent dressing! I used olive oil and red wine vinegar, omitted the salt and added a small amt. of red pepper flakes. The sugar is a good balance for the acidity. I'll definitely be making this again.

This went into a marinade mix for chicken. Since I cannot really rate it on taste (though the marinade came out good, I haven't tasted the dressing by itself), I am rating it on ease. When I realized I didn't have any Italian dressing for the recipe I wanted to use, I set about making it and found this recipe. It worked out well because I had all the ingredients on hand. It was quick, and pretty hard to goof up!

This was great in my pasta salad, though the oregano was a leeetle overwhelming. If I could give a four and a half star rating, I would. Just touch less oregano, and this is perfect!!

Great with a mix of red wine, white and balsamic vinegar! And use olive oil instead of canola... much healthier for you!
