I am a lover of traditional pecan pie that has a gooey middle and a golden pecan top. This recipe calls for pecans in the next to the bottem crust, middle as well as the top making it a mouthful of pecans and a bit overwhelming.

This was my first pecan pie as well and my pecan pie loving best friend LOVED it. I think the addition of vanilla would be appropriate.

This was amazing! I used a store-bought crust and added some vanilla. I will definitely make this over and over again! Thanks so much.

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! I've been struggling for the last 8 years to get a pecan pie that had a firm middle but lightly toasted pecan top. I've tried everything from covering pie with foil, to lowering the temperature of the oven to cook the pie more slowly. This recipe calls for crushed pecans to be stirred into the filling - and I was completely shocked that my filling was PERFECT. Nice, firm, not over done, not over cooked - and you don't notice from a texture perspective that the pecans are in the filling. I'm glad to finally know the secret!

Good, but the recipe on the back of Karo syrup is the best!

BEST PECAN PIE BAR NONE! There is a reason all of these reviews say the same thing, rest assured! I made this for the first time last year, and didn't know to cover it halfway thru. The top ended up burning black and it was STILL SO GOOD, that we just peeled off the top pecans and ate the whole thing anyway!!! I accidentally made a different one this year, for Thanksgiving, Pecan Pie V, on this site, good, with lots of reviews, but believe me, burnt, this still topped it! BTW, I did make the small additions that everyone mentioned, and it was just AMAZING, making TWO of these this year for Christmas.

This is such a great recipe. I have made this for the last three thanksgivings and always get great compliments. I don't make my own pie crust because I am lazy so I use a frozen one, Marie Callenders is the best, no one ever complains about the frozen crust either. I do add foil around the crust to keep it from burning and take it off towards the end to let the edges get golden brown. I also add a splash of bourbon and a teaspoon of good quality vanilla extract. This pie bakes perfect every time. Thanks for the recipe, this is definitely a keeper.

This was a great recipe with the additional ingrediants posted by other members. I was in such a hurry to make mine that I forgot to add the butter and surprisingly the pie still came out delicious.

Very good. Just make sure to watch it while it is cooking. My pie only cooked for 1/2 an hour and then the crust started burning so I covered with foil and cooked for 10 more min. Very good. Will make again.

Very good recipe. I made one the day before Thanksgiving and sat it on the table to cool. After it cooled my husband cut several slices. He enjoyed it so much I had to make another for our Thanksgiving guest. I did add vanilla extract.

Absolutely beautiful! I loved the sheer amount of pecans, more than double the standard recipe. It also meant that the whole pecans placed on top of the pie stayed where you put them and the result was a very professional looking pie. The name couldn't be more accurate and will be in my favorite recipes from here on out.

I made this pecan pie for Thanksgiving this year and for some reason my pecan pies have always come out runny so I baked this one and then turned the oven off and let cool in the oven like a cheesecake and it worked! It was also my first time making a crust and I need to practice on that!

Wow! This was so good. I only made the filling. Wasn't sure about the ground pecans mixed in, but it was really good. I had to use mostly dark corn syrup because I had less than 1/4 c light. Thanks!

This was very good, I used splenda brown sugar and next time I will try the light kayro to cut down on some of the sugar content.

This pie was so easy to make and had good consistency. Not too runny! I added 1 T. flour, 1 tsp. cinnamon, and 1.5 tsp. vanilla as suggested by other reviewers. Good pie. I will make it again.
