This is made just like a traditional pecan pie, with the addition of chocolate chips. It is very fudgy. It is always the first dessert to go at our family's Thanksgiving! Originally submitted to ThanksgivingRecipe.com.

Pecan Chocolate Chip Pie

Before the buttery and sweet filling is poured into the homemade pie shell, pecans and semisweet chocolate chips are sprinkled over the bottom of the pastry. So as the pie bakes, the chocolate melts and mingles with the filling and makes a wonderful taste surprise. Serve with freshly whipped cream and a spoonful of chocolate chips.

Sweet, chocolaty, crunchy, and down-right decadent, this pie is sure to please all. Corn syrup, butter, and sugar are first melted, and then eggs, bourbon, vanilla and salt are combined in a bowl and whisked along with the heated sugar mixture. Then the chocolate and pecans are mixed into the filling that 's then poured into the pie shell.

Old-Fashioned Honey Pecan Pie

Submitted by: Holly
There 's lots of honey and pecans in this pie. Honey is heated on the stovetop until bubbly, and then chopped pecans, butter, eggs, vanilla and nutmeg are stirred in. This thick, luscious filling is poured into a prepared pie crust and baked in the oven until set.
