I've made these with Crisco and with Butter, they are more moist and thick with the Crisco, but just as delicious with butter. I also tried out store brand (Kroger)peanut butter, added (Kroger)peanut butter chips and placed a Hershey Kiss on top right after bringing them out of the oven. I wanted to see if they could be made with lower cost ingredients and it seems you just can't mess these up, they are delicious any way you make them!!

These were good. Not what I'm looking for - but a good standby. Nice amount of soft and chewy, but NO crisp and crumbly edges :(

These are honestly the best peanut butter cookies I have ever had. As a child my mother swore by this recipe, now I do too! I definintly recommend adding a bag of peanut butter chips to the batter. When the cookies are still warm from the oven, the chips are so gooey and delicious. Mmm mm mmm!

Great recipe. I put kisses in the middle right out of the oven and they don't last long.

These were super easy to make, all dumped in one big bowl and mixed together. Cookies came out tender and moist. This gave me 3 dozen cookies. I found the recipe off the back of the peanut butter label, but I'm glad it is posted here as well in case I have another brand of pb in my pantry.

This was such a good recipe, but I tend to like my peanut butter cookies a little more peanut-buttery. So I used 1 full cup of peanut butter and decreased the shortening to 1/4 cup. It turned out beautifully and they were absolutely delicious--a big hit at the party I brought them to.

i use butter flavoured Crisco shortening & line my baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent burning. This recipe is approved with a 4 paws UP vote from my rottweiler grand-dog, Jasmine...she scooped these cookies off a Christmas "dessert" plate & left all the rest of the goodies...it was the Jif cookies that she was yearnin' for. LOL...so try these...humans Love'em too & my roddy-girl can vouch for how yummmmy these are...they're a must-have classic for any cookie jar.

These are hands down THE BEST peanut butter cookies ever! I followed the recipe to a "t", and they are very soft with a well-balanced peanut butter flavor. I made 19 large cookies and baked them for 10 minutes. PERFECT!

This recipe has won over our whole family!!!! Its not too over powering in the peanut buttery taste its just enough. My son is turning 2 and he must have eaten 4 cookies himself and he is a really picky eater. Highly recommended by a family of almost 4!

I've been using this recipe for years. Soft & chewy. Just bake longer for a crisp cookie. It always turns out well. Variations: -1- add m&m's -2- top with a chocolate kiss
