JIF® Creamy Peanut Butter
Crisco® All-Vegetable Shortening
1 1/4 cups
firmly packed light brown sugar
1 3/4 cups
PILLSBURY BEST® All Purpose Flour
I've been using this recipe for years. Soft & chewy. Just bake longer for a crisp cookie. It always turns out well. Variations: -1- add m&m's -2- top with a chocolate kiss
I decided to try this recipe because it had such positive reviews. I followed the recipe exactly like so many others had said they had done, and while the cookies turned out soft and moist I found the flavor to be very bland. I've had much better tasting peanut butter cookies than these. I'm a little disappointed.
This is a family favorite. Old fashion taste like the kind Grandma made.
I've made these with Crisco and with Butter, they are more moist and thick with the Crisco, but just as delicious with butter. I also tried out store brand (Kroger)peanut butter, added (Kroger)peanut butter chips and placed a Hershey Kiss on top right after bringing them out of the oven. I wanted to see if they could be made with lower cost ingredients and it seems you just can't mess these up, they are delicious any way you make them!!
There is no need to change anything. This recipe is simply superb. If you want to change something, double the recipe! They go fast!

i use butter flavoured Crisco shortening & line my baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent burning.
This recipe is approved with a 4 paws UP vote from my rottweiler grand-dog, Jasmine...she scooped these cookies off a Christmas "dessert" plate & left all the rest of the goodies...it was the Jif cookies that she was yearnin' for.
LOL...so try these...humans Love'em too & my roddy-girl can vouch for how yummmmy these are...they're a must-have classic for any cookie jar.
These are hands down THE BEST peanut butter cookies ever! I followed the recipe to a "t", and they are very soft with a well-balanced peanut butter flavor. I made 19 large cookies and baked them for 10 minutes. PERFECT!
