I have never had Irish Soda Bread. I was a little uneasy, but eager to try. The recipe was easy and the taste was great. It almost taste like a cornbread, but its not. My brother ate half the loaf. Diffently a keeper. Thanks!

it was good, but not the same as the Soda Bread in Ireland...it was more of a cake texture...but tasty anyway

This is WONDERFUL! Best Soda bread I have ever had! Followed the recipe exactly. The only thing that would make it better would be eating it in Ireland with a hot cup of tea!

From the photo of this bread, it does look irresistible. However, there is one ingredient that is not listed and probably makes this bread irresistible, and that is Raisins.

I accidentally doubled the butter by using a whole stick, and it was still great! I really liked it hot out of the oven, but when I tried ot the next day, it tasted like cornbread, as others have stated. I also poured a little butter over the top before cooking - makes a great crust!

This was good, but it did not taste like traditional Irish soda bread. The traditional verson is denser and drier. There are no eggs either since the bread comes from a time when famine was a huge problem. I am disappointed to say the least.

Excellent...excellent...excellent! This was the best and easiest soda bread I have ever made. It came out very light and fluffy. Perfect with butter and homemade crabapple jelly.

Easy to make. Taste so good that you didn't even need to put butter on it. It also wasn't dry - something Soda Bread can be known for. The key is wrapping it in the Foil and allowing it to absorb moisture overnight. I am totally hooked on this bread.

I loved this! It reminded me very much of my father's soda bread. It went fast and there wasn't a scrap to be had with my tea the next morning! Next time, I will try to find dried currants to stir into the batter...
