Dan---you da man! This stew was fantastic. I served it for a St. Pattricks' Day dinner and it was a big hit. Very tasty indeed! This will go into "my favorites recipe" book.

I've never made bacon or red meat before, let alone a stew. At first the smell put me off, and I wasn't sure how I'd like it. However, after adding the wine (I used a Riesling), I decided it was okay. I served it with baguettes and Guinness or red wine. Very tasty, deifintely a keeper!

This guy almost has it right. Substitute a cup of beer for the wine. Any substitutions for the Lamb, and it isn't Irish stew.

This is a great recipe. I used beef instead of lamb and it was still great.

Unbelievable, the best I have ever made. I substituted pearl onions for the regular onion and it was a hit!

a great dish - since there are only two of us, I halved the recipe, and still froze enough for another meal. Did refrigerate overnight and was able to skin any fat off the next day. All around one of the best!
