A bimonthly staple in our house. Hubby loves it! I omitted the salt and used 2 cans chicken broth and 2 cans cream of chicken soup as one other person suggested. Absolutely delish!

This is delicious comfort food at it's finest. Absolutely though, take the hint from reviewer DHILLY and reduce the dumpling mixture by about half. I used a home made chicken soup mix and biscuit mix for this recipe, both of which can be found on this site. So much better to remove the msg and other additives by doing that.

I was craving some comfort food, used the Bisquick dumpling recipe, and the result was WONDERFUL. Thank you for a great recipe. Can't remember the last time I made chix and dumplings, but it was a looong time ago. Glad I found this.

I made this yesterday and the only thing i did different was i added fresh parsley on top of the dumplings. These were the best dumplings I had ever had and will be making over and over again :D

Perfect dinner for a cold rainy day. I read the reviews and tweaked it a bit; chopping my potatoes into smaller, bite sized cubes , using a combination of herbs for the poultry seasoning as I didn't have any on hand. (I used a sprinkle each of paprika, rosemary, thyme, parsley and basil.) Oh, and I used boneless, skinless chicken thighs instead of breast meat...again....what I had on hand. I followed the dumpling recipe on the Bisquick box (2 cups mix and 2/3 cup milk) It made 10 dumplings and they came out perfect....light and fluffy. Not sure where others have had problems. My dough was a bit on the stiff side and I used a dinner tablespoon to portion it out into the pot. I did add an extra cup of water because I used more potatoes as I needed to use them up. I had plenty of liquid left. I saved this one to my recipe box. Yummy!

This was pretty good. My husband and I really liked the flavors of the soup itself and the dumplings were very delicious (actually, I didn't use the dumpling recipe given, instead, I used croissant rolls broken into pieces) However, we were highly disappointed that not all the potatoes were cooked all the way through, even though I cooked the soup for about three hours all total. I followed the directions and simmered it on a low setting the entire time, which I probably wont do again. Next time, I'll probably increase the heat to medium and add just a few more seasonings because it turned out to be slightly bland. But we did like this recipe enough to definitely try it again so, three stars. (3-22-12)

Hands down one of the best dishes I have ever made. I doubled the recipe and added twice the ammount of chicken, and added a cup of milk to that. It was absolutly amazing!

Made this for St. Patrick's Day. Made as was except a few things. I was only me and my bf, so I reduced the serving size. One can of soup, two cups water, 1.5 cups celery and carrots (wanted lots of those), about 3/4 onion (next time I may add a whole one), some Adobo, black pepper, parsley, 1 tsp. garlic, two chicken breasts, peas in half (bf doesn't like), three potatoes. I did not to the biscuits on top. My bf doesn't like it like that so I just made some pre-made biscuits separately. Cooked #1 for an hour. I forgot to take the chicken out and shred it. Only problem is, I think the amount of water has to do with adding the baking mix, so mine was more soupy, but REALLY good!! Since I forgot to cut the chicken, I put that on a plate and then the "soup" in a bowl. I combined mine, bf didn't. However he ate it all, which is unusual! Only thing I will change is probably reducing the amount of water, but I almost liked the broth because it was sooo good. I'm not sure if I'll get the right consistancy without making dumplings in it. That's ok though, it's so good!
