I may have done something wrong here. I'm a pretty good cook, but somehow this just didn't turn out right. I think I just expected something else though. Without the expectations, I think I would have thought more of this one though. Makes for a decent make ahead meal for the busy family though.

First attempt ever trying Chicken & Dumplings. I was pleased with the outcome. I used canned refrigerator biscuit dough as someone else suggested. That worked great. Will make again without adding any additional salt. I thought the final dish was a bit too salty.

Very good taste but I agree with other reviewers. If you follow the directions exactly it is way too thick & way too much dumpling mix. I will make again with some changes as the overall result is well worth it!

I had to add water at the end because it got too thick and use less of the dumpling mix, but the end result was excellent - my family loved this one.

This recipe is our family favorite! The only change I started making is to double the soup for extra gravy. Thank you so much for sharing this!!!

Yum, yum, yum! My husband and I LOVED this recipe. It was perfect for a cold, snowy night. We will definitely use this again. I took another reviewer's advice and used 3 cans of cream of chicken soup, and made homemade dumplings. I only used 1 onion, and minced is rather quartered. I also only used 1 1/2 potatoes and 3 carrots with no peas. Otherwise I think it would have been too much. Also I used some corn starch to thicken it. Perfect, perfect, PERFECT! Thank you so much for this recipe.

Everything was on the right track with flavour until the potatoes were added. You need to add an extra can of soup or just 1 cup of chopped potatoes, otherwise when you get to seconds you have no gravy left and quite alot of the flavour was replaced witht the flavour of the potato. I also tried the recipe from this site for herbed dumplings...just follow the advise from the reviews...was fantastic.

My family really liked the chicken and dumplings the only earson I gave it 4 stars was that the broth was a bit thick for my taste. It seemed more like gravy. I will add chicken stock next time to thin it out a bit. Thanks for sharing this great recipe.

my family loves this and we make it on a regular basis. It does make a lot of dumplings and you may want to cut amount!

There really wasnt much taste to this recipe. I did use 3 cups of chicken broth instead of water and didnt put the dumpling in as I made homemade biscuits. It was a good soup but nothing that I would say I have to make again.

Really very good, but save this one for a Sunday when you plan on cooking all afternoon. It is time consuming, although as my boyfriend exclaimed, "worth the wait!" I thought so too, but this recipe could be made quite a bit faster with a few adjustments. I have made this several times and now throw the chicken in my pressure cooker for about 15 minutes then add onion/celery/seasoning and cook about 20 min. Then add potatoes/carrots and cook 30 min. Then do dumplings.

This was very good, and yeah - quite a big time investment. It took about a half hour longer to cook the potatoes than the recipe states and the dumplings took longer too. I've got WAY more than 5 servings, so there's leftovers. Good thing it was really tasty.

Very good! I put the potatoes and carrots in after an hour of cooking so they would have an hour to cook, which they really needed (a half hour isn't enough if you want to get really soft potatoes.) I also replaced the celery with broccoli because my family doesn't like celery, though I think it overpowered the chicken flavor. My family really liked it!

My hubby's English and he really likes (what I call) "cosy" food. This was super easy to make and a real hit with my DH! I halved the recipe and left out the onions, but subbed with 3 (large) cloves of garlic. It was delicious! We'll probably try some sage in the dumplings next time, maybe wine instead of the water. It was perfect as is, though.

I was looking for a stew recipe and came across this. Other than using chicken broth in place of water and choosing to have buscuits on the side instead of in the stew, wow, so very good! The soups gave it a creamy rich tasting gravy that we just loved! Made the house smell good for hours! Thanks!

Excellent and easy to sub lower calorie ingredients. I divided the recipe in 1/2 and made it *mostly* as written. I used Healthy Request cream of chicken soup, Heart Smart (I think it is called) Bisquick mix, threw a bouillon cube into the cooking water and left out the potatoes. I'm almost wishing I'd made the whole recipe as my husband was caught eating the rest of the stew out of the pot!! Easy, filling... really cozy comfort food! Thank you for such a great idea!
