Personally, I think the recipe needs more broth/soup, but otherwise this is an EXCELLENT recipe! My whole family loved it, and now they all request it all the time. Thanks!

Very good meal subsituted corn instead of peas. Not a big fan of peas. Still was extremely good. Very easy clean up. Listened to the rest of the reviews and cut the dumplings in half.

This was amazing! Even my husband, who refuses chicken in all forms ate 2 bowls of this. I made the mistake of doubling the recipe. Normally there isn't quite enough for everyone, this made a huge pot. Good thing we all liked it lol. It's going to be dinner for a few days. I did add a few things though. I cut the onions up a little smaller, and the chicken as well to start off with. I also added a bay leaf, some thyme and a little roasted garlic powder to it. It would have been good without it though too. Also I didn't make the dumplings with a box mix, because I didn't have any I used my grandmother baking powder biscuit recipe, and I don't think it made a difference either. This one is more about the stew. So yummy. Will sure make this one again!!!

I thought this was pretty good. I'll probably keep the recipe but play around with the spices a little. I also used my own recipe for homemade dumplings.

Nice recipe, although it comes out very thick. Next time I make this I may add in a little more broth to thin it out. I used frozen dumplings instead of making fresh.

Great Recipe! Although, I would like a little more broth, and a little smaller dumplings.

VERY good! Leftovers were just as good if not better! I might try in the slow cooker next time. I did have to boil the potatoes and carrots to get them cooked which I think took away some flavor from the dish. I added 3 cans of cream of chicken and used some chicken broth seasoning to boost the flav.

Great recipe, I used the herb dumplings from this site to replace the dumplings this called for, however based on the ingrediants for the dumplings here, as others said its just too much.

I'm sorry, I really wanted to love this Recipe, but it just isn't happening. There was way too much Dumpling Dough, I could only use about half of the Amount stated. And you should really use diced Potatos instead of cutting them in Quarters. They were too big and didn't cook all the way through on the Low Heat. I ended up having to cook them a lot longer than it said. The Flavor was good, but not great. If I ever make this again, I will use way more Water or Broth to make it more soupy and add more Salt and maybe some Rosemary.

It was pretty good. I added paprika just to add some color because it looked so bland. It was yummy though.

My husband and I enjoyed this on a cold winter night. The kids (4 and 6) thought it was gross. I cooked it in the crock pot and the chicken was very tender. The potatoes took about an hour.

Wow. I'd never made chicken and dumplings before, but this was amazing. I didn't have biscuit mix, so I used the substitute recipe, and since my son doesn't like potatoes, I omitted those. (I meant to serve mashed potatoes on the side, but this smelled sooo good cooking that I just wanted to get it to the table!) My normally picky kids absolutely LOVED this, and have asked that I make it often. Thank you so much for sharing. This is definitely comfort food at its best.

Tasty! My late Mother-in-Law made the best Chicken and Dumplings, but my husband liked this one almost as much. I put everything but the dumpling ingredients in the slow cooker and let it cook while I was at work. The first time I tried using the baking mix and turning it on high, but it made a mess. The second time I dipped out some of the broth and cooked the dumplings in a seperate pan. The consistency was fine that way.

This is exactly how my Irish grandma used to make chicken and dumplings... I do like them with the refrigerator biscuit dough as well, but that makes a more noodle-ish dumpling... also very good, but I prefer the more biscuit type dumplings like grandma made :)

I may have done something wrong here. I'm a pretty good cook, but somehow this just didn't turn out right. I think I just expected something else though. Without the expectations, I think I would have thought more of this one though. Makes for a decent make ahead meal for the busy family though.
