The first time I made this, I must have overheated it. It became very thick and my husband and I could hardly eat it because this texture intensified the flavor so dramatically. The second time, I was much more careful and (happily) the curry was saucier and wonderful!

so good... I ommitted the cayenne pepper and lemon juice at the end because it was already perfect. I also pre-fried the spices before adding the oil and other ingredients, as suggested by another reviewer.

I have made this dish 5 or so times and every time I make it, everyone is impressed. It requires basic cooking skills and tastes like curry you would get at a restaurant.

My husband and I really enjoyed this recipe. We added some carrots with the chicken. A winner!

I enjoyed this recipe and found it easy to make however it did seem to be lacking something. Next time I make it I will add some more veg and a hot chilli. It has potential but for me it needs a little tweeking.

I took another reader's advice and added double the amount of curry powder. Unfortunately, I didn't add anymore liquid and ended up with a grainy mess. Taste wise, it was ok, but texture wise... ICK! I'm not sure if my boyfriend will let me make this again to fix my mistake!

I have made this recipe twice. I thought it was pretty good. My husband liked that it was very spicy. It is not the best I've had and I love curry, but I like it and would make it again. I may try some of the suggestions like more curry powder next time around.

easy enough to make but not really a substitute for real indian curry. i thought it was a little tart and a bit bland.

pretty good! I would add more veggies (carrots, squash, maybe even potato) next time to bulk it up, but the flavors were great!

This stuff would make Ghandi end a hunger strike! It was so good that I made it twice in about 3 days. I served it over brown rice that I had cooked in a rice cooker and some warm pita bread which was an adequate substitute for the nan you might have with a traditional Indian meal

INCREDIBLE! I lived in India for six months and never had curry like this!!! I followed the recipe except I added four potatoes and simmered for another 20 minutes to cook the potatoes. Everyone said to add more curry, but I only added 1 more tbsp and a dash of turmeric. The flavor was fantastic. I also did not have tomato paste, but I read if you boil tomato sauce to let some of the liquid evaporate, then that will do just fine, and it did! Some people may be afraid to add the sugar and the cinnamon, but really in the end all the spices blend soooo well and come together nicely. Awesome recipe, and fairly easy. Thanks!

Pretty bad- I've had much better chicken curries, and none of them called for lemon juice. I think that was what really turned me off.

I made it exactly as it was written, and it really didn't taste good. Both my husband and I love Indian food, but this just didn't compare at all to anything you get at a restaurant. Something about the recipe was off, but I don't know enough about those spices to pinpoint what it needed more or less of(It had nothing to do with it's degree of spiciness, just the general flavor and consistency). I won't be making it again. If you are looking for a good Indian recipe, I recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala on this site - it is delicious!

As an individual who has traveled throughout India and enjoys Indian cuisine immensely, I can honestly say anyone who likes this recipe has never eaten Indian food. Not very good.

Yummers! That word doesn't even explain how good this recepie is. I read all of the other Less than % star reviews and all I have to say is that they either don't like Indian food or haven't any taste buds. My husband LOVED it also and we are not Indian!! If you want your house to smell aromatic, cook this. I cooked Basmati rice, added a little extra ginger about 1/8 tsp. of ceyenne pepper. I also put in a little lemon juice and pepper at the end. Super Fantastic!! I also added some sweet pea's and cooked a sliced sweet patato for garnish. Yummers! Will definately save this and repeat again and again. I thought this was better than an Indian restuarant, although we have none in Northern Maine.
