This turned out quite poorly. The curry ended up very grainy and the cinnamon was overpowering. We'll try another recipe next time.

This is a great base recipe to work from, but the curry is a little weak. I would recommend spicing it up a bit to your liking. Easy and fast are it's great attributes!

there was a lot going on in the curry. this was the first indian dish i attempted at home; i thought the dish was pretty easy to make and tasted pretty good. i will make it again and cook it on a different burner for less heat and probably skip the pepper at the end.

I thought this was so spicey I couldn't really taste the flavors, just the heat. I've had milder curry dishes that I really enjoyed, this one was just a little too hot for me.

Very yummy, extremely healthy, and a hit with the family! I didn't add any sugar, didn't use a bay leaf, used 3 chicken breast halves (and it was the perfect amount of sauce for them), and added only 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper. The aroma as the sauce and chicken were simmering made me nervous, because it smelled very yoghurty and cinnamony...I thought "is this going to be any good?" But after it was done and served over hot brown rice (with some tomato and green onions on top, as another reviewer suggested), I started hearing "mmm"s from the fam, and my first bite was scrumptious! I will definitely be making this again.

This was really quite good. I made it exactly as posted except I added 3 green cardamon pods and I whisked in a little corn starch at the end of the cooking time to thicken the sauce up. Great recipe, my husband and I ate every drop.

I made this for a pitch-in at work and it was a huge hit! I followed the suggestion of another poster and dry roasted the curry and other spices before adding the olive oil. It made a flavorful paste that coated my chicken nicely. I left out the sugar too. I put the seasoned chicken pieces, the yogurt milk mixture, the diced onions and a bag of lima beans in my slow cooker and cooked the whole thing on high for about 4 hours. It turned out perfect! This is something I will make again - at the request of my co-workers!

We didn't like this very much. I'm sorry, I suppose curry dishes aren't my thing.

This was very good! I used only half of the amount of olive oil and substituted the other half with sesame hot chile oil for a little extra heat. This was a tad sweeter than I expected it to be, but I still got great feedback from my company :) Thanks for sharing!

This recipe made almost too much sauce. I added a little extra curry powder and some peas. My husband, who can been picky when it comes to anything other than meat and potatoes, LOVED it.

Great home substitute for expensive restaraunt food. I made enough sauce to freeze for an easy dinner another night. We found it to be a bit sweet, so next time I'll tweak the sugar/coconut milk amounts.

This recipe is amazing! I've been searching for a curry recipe forever, looking for a good indian dish to make at home instead of neeeding to eat out. Only change made was marinading the chicken in lemon juice for an hour before cooking, also used no paprika and no sugar, increased curry to 4 TBL.sp. Really yummy. served w/basmati rice and naan.

Very good! This was my first attempt at homemade curry chicken (not using a mix) and my fiance and I both really liked it, so it's a keeper. I followed some of the suggestions I saw and upped the curry to 5 tablespoons and dry-roasted the spices first. I used shallots instead of onions and also added carrots, red bell pepper and mushrooms. Instead of cayenne at the end, I used Hot Shot which is a combo of red and black peppers. Only used a dash of lemon juice and no sugar. I served it on top of couscous and it was delicious!

Someone said this was bland, and I agree. All it needs is a little salt and that makes it a 5 star for sure! YUMMY

This curry dish was the best one I have tried yet, and let me tell you I have been searching high and low for the perfect curry recipe! I have a feeling the yogurt and tomato paste are the ingredients I have been missing. These are the small changes I made - I used a combination of curry powder and red curry paste. No cinnamon, sugar, bay leaf or lemon juice. I also left the cayenne powder out and let each person add chili paste to their own plate, and I’m glad I did because it was plenty spicy for me but my husband added more heat. Served with crushed peanuts, Jasmine rice (or boiled potatoes) and the roasted cauliflower from this site - this is now our favorite meal!

I love curry chicken and this is my favorite recipe for it! I substite canned tomatoes for tomato paste and make my own curry powder because I like it really spicy. This recipe is excellent if you like a creamy curry rather than a tomato based curry.
