I asked my husband what he wanted for a special dinner tonight and he said 'chicken curry'. I was stumped- never made it before! So I googled 'easy chicken curry' and stumbled upon this recipe. We don't like it super hot, so I left out the cayenne pepper, and added black pepper and a sprinkling of crushed red pepper. I also used lowfat yogurt. UNBELIEVABLE! I've never made an ethnic dish before that tastes so close to restaurant quality! He already printed it out and stuck it in my recipe box- so apparently it was a hit! So good! Thanks a million! :)

This was the first time I had ever made a curry. I was a bit nervous as it was for a party of 15 friends. I live in the Middle East and my friends know their curries and I am delighted to say that everyone love it!

This was a different flavor for my family. They seemed to like it though. I really think it needed some red bell pepper, or something to add some heat. Maybe some cayenne. The only thing I did different was OMITTED the sugar. It did not need it at all. The coconut milk has sweetness of it's own. It was really good with the coconut rice I made to eat it over. Yum.....Makes me want to try more "indian" recipes.

The lemon juice made it to tangy. I felt this dish was missing something. It wasn't cool.

I make this often and consider it a favorite. The only change is I add the whole can of coconut milk, some cubed potato and small cauliflower pieces before the simmer stage. Serve with home made naan and different chutneys. Great! YUM!

Nice recipe. I did an extra first step, that is to marinate the chicken in curry powder, minced garlic, a pinch of salt and water for about 20 minutes.

Disappointed. Rough around the edges. Recipe was totally disappointing until the lemon juice was added which brought it around nicely. While I might prepare this dish again, it will be a while and I will continue to look for a chicken curry recipe that flows better than this one does.

We loved this! I used more yoghurt than coconut and a heavy hand with spices. I liked how much "gravy" there was to flavor the rice.

This was good, just not as flavorful as we expected. I added quite a bit more of the curry powder, around 7 TBS and added a chopped Yukon Gold potato and some peas that I had on hand. I also added some more chili flakes. Definitely not "authentic Indian" but comes close and certainly isn't without taste.

This was tasty, but not exactly what I was going for. There was nothing wrong with the recipe as far as I'm concerned. It's just not the Indian flavor I was hoping for. I listened to the suggestions from other comments and added more curry, potatoes, yogurt, etc. But it just lacked whatever it is I'm looking for. Thank you for posting!

Excellent. Easy to prepare. Followed recipe except I also roasted the spices first, use a the whole can of light coconut milk. Served with spinach and jasmine rice. Even my very picky mother loved it.

My family wasn't crazy about this. That doesn't mean it wasn't a good recipe. To be honest, this was the first time we tried Chicken Curry. I'm sorry for the low rating. I really use the rating system to keep track of what we like and don't like.

Not terrible, but it doesn't taste anything like the curry I've had before. The sauce is very grainy and it has a very generic flavor. I'm not really sure why this is rated so high to be honest.
