This is the exact same recipe that I have from my Great Grandmother. I don't know if it is the nostalgia or the actual cookie, but my family goes crazy for these cookies.

Perhaps you have to have grown up on these but I was THRILLED to find this recipe. My mom used to make these and she's been gone for 16 years...I was trying to make some different cookies for an Easter tray and I remembered these. They are so great. I did sift the flour because I recalled that she always did. I think they are perfect. Thanks so much for posting this recipe.

The glaze was good, but there is something not right about the cookie itself. Maybe too much flour? I won't make these again.
