It was just okay, no better than a slice of plain chocolate cake with ice cream and hot fudge on top, but considerably more work, and frozen cake just isn't that good.

Very good! Instead of going with minty I used cookies n cream ice cream to simulate the crunch of a DQ cake, and put a layer of jarred hot fudge on the inside. I also used the remaining hot fudge to drizzle over top when finished. Everybody loved it.

This cake is so easy and so wonderful. Sorry, I hate when people don't follow the recipe and still review it, but I did, I just changed the flavor. My sister loves lemon cake, so for her birthday I made this with lemon cake, lemon sorbet and coconut gelato, and I made a cream cheese lemon icing over the top. Everyone wanted to know where I got it. The best part is that it looks like it must've been impossible to do, but it was so easy. I can't wait to make it chocolate. Thanks.

Actually...I haven't tasted it yet b/c the birthday is 2 weeks away; however, I tried this variation and think it will be delish! Choc. Fudge Cake Mix, add tsp. cherry extract to mix, Black Cherry Ice Cream center, add chopped cherry pieces to top the cho.chip icing. Chocolate and cherry - always a winner!

I made this cake with mint chip ice cream for my son's birthday. I used regular (not mint) chips for the frosting. It was delicious and surprisingly easy to make. Also, I iced the cake in advance and put it back in the freezer with the frosting on. It turned out great and I did not have to do any last minute preparations during the birthday party.

I made this for the 4th of July with the mint chocolate chip ice cream and everybody loved it. I thought it needed a little more ice cream so I filled the center of the cake with more ice cream and then drizzled the top with hot fudge. It was a huge hit.

Great Recipe! My son made this for Father's Day and forgot to grease the pan. No problem though... Just turned the cake upside down, cut the bottom quarter off and followed the instructions as if it was right side up. Took the remaining pieces that stuck to pan and froze them also. After filling the ring with ice cream, we covered the "top" with the leftover pieces, cubed. My son then put some whipped cream dollops on the top and drizzeled some chocolate syrup over that. My husband said it was the best cake he ever had... Fun, easy and a great memory. Thanks!
