Very tasty, and one of the easiest soup recipes I have ever followed. The only changes I made were sauteing the onions and mushrooms in olive oil instead of butter, substituting vegetable broth for chicken broth, and leaving out the fresh parsley, using two generous shakes of dried parsley shortly after I added the broth instead. I also decided that I wanted a slight tomato flavor to it, so I added about a tablespoon of tomato paste. I recommend at the end that you add the sour cream and one tsp of lemon first, then taste it and decide whether you want the second tsp of lemon, and how much salt and pepper you want to add. I looked for Hungarian paprika and couldn't find it at my local grocery store. I think I will try to find it at a gourmet store before I make this again.

Delish! I lightened it a bit by using half the butter, fat free milk and light sour cream. Also a couple table spoons of good sherry and it was divine!!

I used about half the onions called for, used 2 tbsp salted butter and 2 tbsp smart balance oil and didn't need to add any other salt. Added 2 diced cooked chicken breasts to make it more of a meal. Used dried parsley. Used whole wheat flour. It was sooo good, I'd like to give it 4.5 stars (based om 5 stars being the best thing I've ever tasted) but there's no option for that. I will ABSOLUTELY be making this more in the future!

My first review! This soup was great! I made it Vegan by skipping butter (slowly cook onions) and using Vegetarian broth. Replaced dairy milk with almond milk (not sweetened). I didn't have sour cream, but this was fabulous without it. I used white and cremini mushrooms! My husband and I ate the whole thing in one meal with salad. Definitely good enough to serve guests!

Very nice. I used button mushrooms but think I will nudge it up a notch with portabello next time.

Definitely and "acquired" taste. After a few spoonfuls, it was easier to eat and more fulfilling.

I was looking for a nice easy and quick lunch. This was SO good and did the trick! I used the dried dill, but also used some fresh that I threw in last second. I was out of fresh parsley, so I used dried. Yummy soup!

This soup is so hearty and flavorful. Even my boyfriend who doesn't like mushrooms LOVE'S this soup. I did add more mushrooms than the recipe called for but not necessary. It's fun to try different types of mushrooms for different favors.

I used different types of mushrooms for interest. I served this with a dollop of Greek yogurt in the center. It was delicious and well worth the effort.
