Absolutely delicious... and I'm not just saying that because I'm Hungarian! :-) I strongly suggest making a double batch, in our house we can't get enough of this soup. Thanks for sharing!

This is hands down the best mushroom soup I have EVER put in my mouth! I LOVE mushrooms and this is the perfect mushroom lover dish. It has a very strong flavor so don't try it if you're looking for something plain and bland and if you only "kinda" like mushrooms. I used baby bellas and pureed the soup before adding the sour cream. My family didn't enjoy it at all, but I was happy! More for me! :)

I usually add some flank steak and potatoes to this soup. I cook the steak and then add about a cup of water and let it simmer to make a quick broth. My Russian husband loves this authentic gribovnitsa with a huge dollop of sour cream!

This was one of the best soups I have found on this site, even though I omitted the butter and sour cream. I ate this right up and so did my partner, even though he is not a big mushroom fan. And it smelt fantastic whilst it was cooking! Thanks for a great recipe. *UPDATE* I used this recipe in a soup competition and won first prize!

Bravo! It is rare that I don't "tinker" with a recipe, but with this one, it was definitely unnecessary! My fiance requested that I make this dish. I had not ever sampled this kind of soup, but I was blown away by the results! As mentioned, I made no changes. It is truly rich, scrumptious and wonderful as written! Take it from a true "foodie" ~ this one is worth giving a try! Thank you HAMM for a fantastic recipe!

One of our favorite recipes. Actually it's my girfriend's favorite and she's asked for it so many times I'm almost getting sick of it. But it's a great combination of flavors. I would reccomend though making sure that the mushrooms reach your desired level of firmness before adding the broth as it can make a difference. Also know that some paprikas can be quite spicy so adjust accordingly.

I am always on the lookout for soup recipes because anything I buy in the store or in the restaurant, for that matter, is usually loaded with salt. This recipe was really the bomb for those of us who love mushrooms and a creamy sauce!

I thought this made a fairly decent bowl of soup but my husband absolutely LOVES this recipe. Needless to say, I've made it a few times now! The first time I made it as directed, and it was pretty good, with room for improvement. The second and third time I made it, I added baby portabellas (sliced) in addition to the button mushrooms. I also added a splash of cider vinegar, which I felt complemented the dill, and at the very end I stirred in some sliced green onions and crispy bacon, just to give it a little more "oomph." I know I will be making this again, as hubby is crazy about it. Thank you SO much for sharing!!!

I looked at this recipe and couldn't imagine if it would actually taste good with all that combined. It is heavenly. I modified the recipe and added a little more salt, and three cloves of finely minced garlic, which I sauted with the onions and mushrooms. I also added a little onion powder. This recipe even makes great leftovers... if it lasts that long.

Wow, this was the BEST mushroom soup I've ever had. Added slightly less dill based on other reviews and used FF sour cream. It turned out incredbly rich and creamy and was super easy to make. My better half and I agree that this will be a staple in our soup rotation. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful dish! Edit to say that after discussing this soup, we came to the conclusion that it's very similar to Goulash/Stroganoff type dishes ... we think that it would be awesome with some beef in it and served over noodles.

SO GOOD!!! I had to change it up a bit due to what i had in the house. I didn't have any sour cream so i followed all the other directions and subsituted a little evaporated milk and a drop of sherry for the sour cream, it turned out great. This soup really does give the warmth and heartiness of eastern european cooking...delish! I can't wait to make this again, i'm thinking subbing creme fraiche for the sour cream will give it an even more authentic euro flavor.
