Added some water and olive oil to the food processor to get a good consistency...also added more garlic than called for. Very good! :-)

This was very good. Like others have noted, I had to add a little bit of water to the mix just to get the Hummus to the right consistency. Without the water, it was way too thick. Very tasty, and tasted very authentic!

I didn't really think this hummus turned out like it was supposed to. This is my first time making hummus and also buying tahini, so I didn't know what to expect, but it was very pasty and dry and didn't blend well. The tahini was very peanut buttery as well. It tasted alright, but I should have read the other reviews before making. Maybe then I would have known more what to expect. I will try it again though. I just don't see how this recipe has such great ratings.

What a great recipe, and awesome reviewer comments as well. To the food processor, I added the amount of chick peas called for, 3 tbsp. of tahini, 3 tbsp. of lemon juice, 4 cloves of garlic, 1 tbsp oil, 1/4+ cup bean liquid (until hummus consistency), the salt and 1/4 tsp. cumin. I finished it as indicated. Makes loads and went quickly!

Yum! This hummus was very tasty, but the recipe does not call for enough liquid. I ended up having to add the oil to the hummus while it was processing because it was so thick. I also added several tablespoons of water to make it smoother. With these additions, the hummus turned out very smooth and creamy, and looked great with the paprika and parsley topping! Those in my family who like hummus really loved this! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

I'm so thankful for this recipe! I make it all the time now. My kids and husband love it! One time I realized that I was out of lemon juice and ended up squeezing a grapefruit for some citrus type juice, it came out fine!

When I first made this recipe I thought it was too thick, but I've since learned to save the liquid from the can of chick peas to add in. I also like to add 1/2 teaspoon of cumin and double the garlic for a more spicy hummus. Sometime I'll add roasted red peppers to make it sweeter. This is the best tasting and most versatile hummus recipe I've found and it's the one I keep coming back to.

I liked this, too bad 2/3 of my kids did not. Guess its not really a kid thing. I added extra garlic and a little cayenne. Its okay. I've had better. Not sure if it was worth the $7 on tahini, but I'll find another use for it. Thanks for the post!!

Good... need to get a better blender to do this. The magic bullet is terrible for this and I had to add so much more liquids to make it blend...

My husband loves this hummus. I've made it a few times for him and he usually eats it in one to two sittings. I use a little less then 1/4 cup tahini, about 3 cloves garlic and the "juice" from the garbanzo beans to loosen it up a bit. I want to try it with some roasted red pepper next time.

This is one recipe that will be altered by most ONLY because we all have different tastes. It's a great starter Hummus - not spicy - great for kids. I used artificial lemon juice(1/2 the recommended amount) and it is goood. I modify it slightly every now & again to suit our mood. It's worth a 5 because it's a great one to work with or eat as is. Thanks!

This is a good recipe, but i would suggest taking down the lemon juice just a bit and adding water instead. it gets too sour with the lemon juice and is quite dry if you don't add water. turned out delicious otherwise!

Fantastic! Of course, hummus is all about what you want, but between this recipe, and all of the reviews, you have such a great base here to make a true hummus that you love. I used about 4 tsp tahini, 14 oz can chick peas (drained but ended uo adding about 1/2 the liquid back in to get good consistancy), 1/4 tsp cumin, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 5 garlic gloves, 1 tsp salt, 1 tbsp olive oil in it. Then served with a little more olive oil drizzeled over and paprika and parsley on top. My next, and probably only change I will make next time is cut back on the salt just a little bit. Couldnt stop eatting this one! Thanks!

YUM! After reading other reviews, I erred on the side of caution with some of the ingredients for the first time making it. So good and so easy. I'll never buy hummus again! Such a great base recipe to play with flavours!

Loved it. Great basic hummus recipe. I did mistakenly use 2 cans of chick peas but added some reserve water and it was fine. I'm going to experiment and make it with Chipotles and another with Kalamata olives.
