This was good and easy recipe. I don't care for raw garlic so I roasted it in a few tablespoons of olive oil that I poured into the blender with the rest of the ingredients. I had to add in quite a bit of reserved chickpea liquid from the can so my blender could process this. I added in cumin just because I love that in my hummus. Thanks for the recipe.

Perfect as written. Try it with toasted-sesame tahini. It's phenomenal! I've also added roasted red peppers when the fancy struck me. The proportions are just right!

Excellent recipe. I omitted the salt altogether. I couldn't find any tahini so I substituted with seasame oil. Excellent!! Thanks for the recipe.

Very good recipe, but I shouldn't have added all the salt in at once because it was way too salty! Next time, I will add a little at a time, and I did not add the whole amount of garlic (that would've been too much for my family). At a lebanese restaurant that I go to, they drizzle EVOO with red pepper flakes and slices of fresh parmesan cheese on top of the hummus and that is how I always serve it. Really delicious!

Great basic recipe. Super easy, quick and my kids love it. Used a blender and it worked great. I roasted sesame seeds instead of tahini. Next will try adding roasted red pepper!

I agree with the other reviews that this is a basic recipe.and the taste will be different for every one as it depends on the quality of ur tahini. sometimes I add water if it came out thick. I like to add cumin and it is perfect with roasted red pepper, and I`m going to try it with roasted garlic .

A great recipe to get started with. I tamper with amounts of all the ingredients listed, and it's always great. The only other thing I add is a bit of cumin. I think it goes nicely with the other ingredients. Thanks for a great recipe!

This was a very good basic recipe. I tripled the garlic, and added less tahini. I divided the finished hummus into 3 bowls and made a trio of hummus. The first was the basic recipe topped with paprika, the second was roasted red pepper, and the third was cilantro jalapeno hummus. I brought it to a party along with the baba ganoush recipe on here, and everyone loved it, especially the cilantro one.

I picked the recipe but my husband actually did the execution. We added more garlic than necessary - we also added cumin and some roasted red pepper. Cayanne pepper too. It was really good. Scaled back the recipe becuase my can of beans only held 1 and 1/2 cups. The flavor and consistenty was both excellent.

I love hummus and have tried many recipes, but this one is by far the best! I did reserve some liquid to add because I like mine creamier, other than that I stuck to the recipe. This is delicious and much better and less expensive than store brands. Thank you for sharing!

this recipe is phenomenal! I added a touch of water at the end because it was a bit thick. I've made it a ton of times. Everyone just raves about it!

I made the recipe as written and the consistency was terrible. It was so thick my food processor was bogging down. I added more olive oil and some vegetable broth before I got anywhere near something that resembled store bought hummus. Maybe that's the point? Anyway, the flavor is good, but for me, the ingredient proportions seem off.

MMM, hummus! I got sick of buying those tiny tubs for large prices. Home made is where it's at! So far, I have only used dried garbanzo beans, which take forever to soak and cook. The first time, I didn't cook them long enough and the hummus turned out grainy and chunky, yuck. The second time was perfect! I added roasted garlic, and had a huge batch of home cooked hummus for about...$2-$3? With baby carrots and pita bread, it was a delicious and healthy snack. I am trying it next time with canned beans to determine if the easier way tastes just as good. Either way, this recipe is the keeper for me!

So very easy. I thought it was good. You could always add chopped Kalamata olives to it and it would be wonderful!

First time making Hummus from scratch. Had no idea how simle it was to make. Added some olive tapinade and fennel seed. Served with homemade baked whole grain pita chips. This stuff will not last long around here. Yummy.

This is, hands down, the best hummus around. My husband and I make this recipe at least once a month. I use the full amount of tahini in it, and I think it tastes fabulous just as it is!

I agree with a previous reviewer...be careful with the Tahini. I had never cooked with it before, and yowsa that is some sticky, bitter stuff. The garlic (and I would consider myself a garlicaholic) was spicy and only slightly mellowed after several days - I'm going to keep looking.

I roasted the garlic before putting it in the food processor, which gave it great flavor. My only complaint is that the hummus was a bit dry. Next time I will add more of the liquid from the Garbanzo beans can.
