Recipe by Mark Bender
"This Hawaiian BBQ is commonly found at roadside fundraisers. This recipe uses crushed pineapple and brown sugar for caramelized texture and wonderful flavor. And, if you are wondering, 'huli' is the Hawaiian term for 'turn.'"
Hmm. None of these ingredients are on sale today.

1 (20 ounce) can
crushed pineapple in juice
shoyu (Japanese soy sauce)
1 (1 inch) piece
fresh ginger, minced
liquid smoke, or more to taste
3 (3 1/2) pound
fryer chickens, quartered
I loved this! I saved some of the marinade to use with chicken kabobs at a later date. Hubs thought it was good, but felt it needed a kick (he says that about everything though). I served this with Caesar Salad Supreme (also from the site) and grilled bread, and it made a delicious summer meal. Thanks Mark, for sharing your recipe!
This marinade is superb. Have tried many, but this was the first that gained a 5-star hubby review. You will love it.
