Hot and Spicy Stuffed Mushrooms

"Cheese, bacon, and peppers! I usually throw an habanero in when we are making it just for us. These are also great with a salad for dinner. This filling is also a good stuffing for jalapenos."

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Mix cream cheese, Cheddar cheese, onion, bacon, jalapeno peppers, cumin, and garlic powder together in a bowl. Spoon cream cheese mixture into each mushroom. Arrange stuffed mushrooms on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until mushrooms are tender and cheese is melted, 30 to 40 minutes.

Very tasty appetizer!! Made this for a big crowd and wasn't sure of everyone's tolerance or liking hot jalapeños so I reduced the amount of these to only 2 (could have safely gone with three). After mixing everything together I thought it needed just a bit more seasoning so added a bit of salt and maybe 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper. This took it over the top and everyone loved them! Thanks for a great recipe KristenM1.

My husband and I really enjoyed these. I made them exactly as described and had plenty of the cream cheese mixture to make more mushrooms than the recipe called for. I will be making these again.

Family and guests loved them! I used Serrano peppers to make them a little spicier. We like a kick of heat.
