I made several modifications to this recipe and my husband loved it. I enjoyed it, but he literally scraped the bowl down!
Used neufchatel instead of cream cheese, added chopped garlic, red pepper flakes and hot sauce to that mixture, then thinned it with a little non fat plain yogurt. I also used more of each spice because we like a lot of flavor.
I subbed red bell pepper for green and used vegetarian pepperoni instead of the real thing – saves lots of calories and cholesterol, in addition to the animal!
Finally, I baked it for 20 minutes at 370 instead of microwaving.
We used yellow corn tortilla chips but I think next time I'll use crusty bread.
