I must have done something wrong. These were a Hot Cross Bust. My yeast didn't rise, and they were little rocks. :(

These were much better than storebought, but I think I have still not found the recipe that converts me into making these every year. Still, they're pretty tasty, and the orangey icing was a nice bonus. Thanks for sharing!

I made these for Easter last year and got rave reviews even comparing them with store ones (I think these were a lot better!) For the cross I used flour and water with an orange glaze used by just heating a little orange juice, rind and sugar. yum yum

Very good, but would prefer the outside to stay a little softer. Still make them every year anyway :-)

I made these exactly as stated but used my kitchen aid mixer as another reviewer suggested for kneading. I don't know what I could have done differently exactly but these were small little rock-like buns. Not like the store-bought bread rolls we have every Easter. Sadly, my effort to replace our store-bought tradition with something healthier and home-baked went right out the window...

The yield was 10, not 18 and the dough really didn't rise well. I tried the recipe a couple times (to get enough) and each time had the same problems.

I have never had nor made a hot cross bun, but wanted to give these a try. I made it exactly as written, but halved the recipe and put in an 8x8 pan. These are almost like a want-to-be cinnamon roll. They were much better with some butter and most glaze. I'm not sure if i'll make them again, but it was good to finally taste one!

Great, easy and delicious! Didn't change a thing. Made 3 individual batches and could not believe how easy the process was.

These turned out really well. They came out light and fluffy. They reminded me of a cinnamon roll. I've never had hot cross buns before so I don't know if this is what they are supposed to taste like or not but I like them! After they came out of the oven I glazed a few of them with some apricot jam which added a nice sweetness.

These turned out great! It took a while for the dough to rise, but after I got a pot of water boiling on the stove they really took off! I only had pineapple juice on hand to make the glaze, but it turned out very nicely. Thanks, Delores!
