I made the mistake of adding chili paste instead of chili sauce. If you do like your food hot enough to burn for days this is a great mistake to make. It really is a great recipe. Just don't make my mistake!!!

12/13/10: I haven't made the sauce--I made these to freeze, so I'll have to review again when I make the sauce. the meatballs are pretty good. Very greasy, which I knew they would be, so I baked them in two batches on my broiler pan since it has two sections: the top wtih slats for grease, and a bottom section to catch the grease. Even with that, they are still somewhat greasy. They taste really good, though! I can't wait to try with the sauce. Thanks for the recipe! 2/5/11: Defrosted the meatballs and made the sauce. Pretty good--a little spicy. Bf was a little leary--he thinks it is the combo of chili sauce and ketchup he's not keen on, but he's eating them. He's also not thrilled with my choice of mixed rice to serve with the meatballs, but hey--I'm the cook--he can deal! ;o) Thanks for sharing.

My young kids loved these meatballs. I was worried that the horseradish and hot sauce would make the sauce too spicy but it wasn't in the least. Really good flavor and a nice change from the average.

My husband loved these. I made them for a party too and they went super fast... but this time, to make a huge quantity I used a bag of frozen meatballs with the sauce recipe. Outstanding and quick.

Joyce, thanks for sharing your recipe! I was looking for a sauce for some frozen meatballs to be served as an appetizer. This sounded so different and interesting that I had to try it. I used brown mustard since that's what I had on hand. I realized after we'd gobbled up the meatballs that I had forgotten the worcestershire in the sauce, but it was still delicious! I like that I nearly always have all the ingredients on hand; that it is easy to prepare; and, of course, that the flavor is just fantastic (the cider vinegar and horseradish are key). I didn't feel like using the stove or dragging out the slow cooker, so I heated the sauce in a large bowl in the microwave til it was simmering; added the frozen meatballs; then heated on 30% power for 10 mins and 20% for another 10 mins, just to thicken the sauce a bit. Adheres very well to the meatballs. I served with some fresh pineapple cubes on the side, and the flavors were perfect together. By the way, I doubled the sauce recipe and it was just the right amount for about 2 lbs of bite-size frozen meatballs. If you're looking for something different than the usual BBQ or chili sauce + jelly/preserves thing, be sure to try this sauce -- you won't be disappointed. Thanks again, Joyce! :-)

Very good and flavorful made with easy to find ingredients. It's nice to find a meatball recipe with horseradish and garlic, two of our favorite flavors. I served this over brown rice for a hearty winter meal.

Overall, this was a tasty dish! When I make it next time I'm going to add more seasoning to the meatballs themselves, but the sauce was just perfect.

Ok...I have to admit that I am rating this recipe more on the sauce than the actual meatballs. I had some frozen meatballs that I had bought at BJ's and I needed a quick sauce. I made the sauce and it was to die for! My husband not only ate his portion, but half of mine as well. Like the submitter, I had some rice on the side, along with fresh cucumbers and tomatoes, and it was a quick and easy meal!

I made this slightly different (no beef), and it came out very good. I found this recipe by using the ingedient search for turkey and pork as I needed to use up a boneless porkchop and 10 oz of ground turkey. (I ground the pork chop in th efood processor) I used half of the amounts for the rest of the ingedients. I thought the sauce was a little too sweet so I added a little more vinegar and a little more horseradish. Next time I would cut back on the brown sugar because ketchup, chili sauce, and worcestershire sauce already have sweeteners in them (corn syrup/sugar).
