Honey Whole Wheat Bread
SUBMITTED BY:
Diane Kahnk
"You'll appreciate the hearty whole wheat goodness in this tender bread from Diane Kahnk of Tecumseh, Nebraska. The recipe calls for a blend of whole wheat and white flours to produce a loaf that tastes just like Grandma used to make."

This is a good basic whole wheat bread. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it has a very soft texture, like a store bought bread, and I prefer a bit more density.

I don't have a bread machine, so I made this the conventional way. It still turned out to be the softest bread recipe that I have found. Great for sandwiches! I let it rise three times (two in a bowl and third in the loaf pan) and then baked at 375 for 30 minutes. I also placed a pan of water in the bottom of the oven for humidity. Next time, I'll add a little more honey, because I like the bread to be sweet.

This was really good. I like the lighter texture than all whole wheat. I added a little extra honey and some cardomom and rose water. Turned out great; the kids love it.

This is a great recipe. I added 1/2 cup brown sugar to get an awesome pre-dinner bread. I took it to work and it was gone in a couple of minutes!

I made this in my bread machine. It was pretty good, but nothing like I had expected.
