I thought these were delicious! I tried these for a friend who is in bed with morning sickness this month. I thought the ginger might be helpful. They were great the second time. The first time, I forgot the baking soda. Don't do that! Based on the flavor of the first, however, I adjusted my second batch a bit. I doubled the cinnamon and tripled the ginger. Perfect amount of spice! Also, I might increase the butter to shortening ratio next time as I felt like I was getting a bit of a shortening after-feel, but really, that was way minor and barely noticeable the next day as they were more chewy than soft. I also left out the pecans because my friend has a nut allergy. Really good, though. This will be my go-to for ginger snaps, for sure.
