Homemade Sweetened Condensed Milk

"I was making a recipe which called for condensed milk; I had none on had and decided to make my own with what ingredients I had on hand."

Original Recipe Yield 1 1/2 cups
 

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk

Directions

  1. Pour the sugar into the milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat and allow to cool before using.
