I LOVED this recipe! I tend to be picky about my mac and cheese, and this one was awesome. It reminded me a lot of the macaroni and cheese served at a local steakhouse, McKendricks, that is my favorite.
For the 3 cups milk, I used whole milk (I only use whole for cooking) to give it a richer taste.
Also, I used 1 sleeve of ritz crackers and crumbled them for the top, to give it a little more crunch.
My mother even borrowed the recipe for our Thanksgiving instead of her usual mac and cheese casserole! It was a big hit!
