I've made this twice: once basically exactly as it says, the second with most of the suggestions. The second time was a bit better, but not a whole lot. This recipe is good, there's no denying that, but it's not great. Even changing things and adding stuff still leaves me feeling like there's something missing. However, this is still pretty good. Worth trying. I will be making this again, and probably with some frequency.

Well I just made this and it has a good taste, I didn't use the parmesan, as I know it can make it grainy. I used the evaporated milk from another review and this is the MAJOR problem I had. I cooked the 8oz. of pasta(I weighed it out! I didn't just use 1 8oz. cup of macaroni) and thought wow this isn't very much macaroni for all this sauce! So I made the sauce and sure enough I had a whole pot of sauce and this little bit of macaroni....why does it only say 8oz if there's so much sauce??? So right now I pretty much have a bowl of macaroni soup in the oven!!!! I will make it again as the taste is good and the topping but I will double or even triple the pasta as that is definitely not enough! Did anyone else run into this problem???

I really like this mac and cheese recipe. I like that it doesn't use any processed cheese. I add some spices to the cheese sauce before baking (salt, pepper, garlic powder, etc) and I let the sauce cook until it's fairly thick. This cuts down on cooking time in the oven, and makes the final product less runny.

I used Panco bread crumbs and it was excellent! Every one at the dinner table loved it. The recipe says four servings but we had massive amounts of leftovers, never a bad thing!

I am a new cook, I made this recipe for me and my husband, it was very easy but I was disappointed, it did not have much flavor and was bland, I will use the basics for this recipe again but spice it up next time. The bread crumbs on top were great.

Delicious! My husband was all over it and I added 3 strips of cooked turkey bacon to the breadcrumbs on top. I love that this recipie does not call for onions; they don't belong in mac & cheese!

Not sure why but mine turned out really runny. I followed the directions, with the exception of adding extra cheese. I added about a cup of marble jack. Cheese mixture never really thickened. Will have to try again and see what result is.

This was good! Truth be told, my kids didn't meet any mac and cheese they didn't like, but this was creamy, tasty topping, not too hard to make and pleasing for the adults also. Great recipe, thanks for sharing.

Pretty good mac n' cheese. My fiance really liked it. I followed it exactly per the instructions. I used the Kraft grated parmesean, it probably would have tasted even better if I had used fresh grated parm. I would def make again. Also, I would probably skip the step of melting butter for the bread crumbs.

Great recipe! I have been using another recipe for baked mac & cheese and thought I would try this one because it is slightly easier. OH MY! I am so glad I did because the whole family decided that this recipe rocks!!! Easy and tasty.

Since I had most of the ingredients I thought I'd give this recipe a try. I didn't have any bread crumbs but I did have some shredded mozzarella cheese so I threw that in with the rest of the cheeses. I loved this dish and will make it again. I also added a dash of sour cream when I ate my second helping. It was great.

I was glad to see that I had everything on hand for this, that is the main reason why I picked it over some similar recipes. One thing about the way it printed out it that you read the ingredients from left to right and then down to the next row. I didn't realize this and accidently used 1/4 c butter for the roux instead of the few tbsp it was supposed to be. I'm not sure how this affected the results. The texture was fine but like others have said it was a bit bland, even after adding salt, pepper, and garlic powder to the cheese sauce. I did not brown the breadcrumbs because of a lack of time and I didn't want to use another 1/4 butter, too much fat! To help with the blandness I added some bacon salt after cooking. This is a wonderful, fat free, kosher, low sodium, and vegan seasoning that really tastes just like bacon. This did just the trick and it tasted great.
