These were amazing! The only thing I added was cajun seasoning to the batter. My husband and I were skeptical that we could make french fries from home that actually tasted decent...these were restaurant worthy, actually better than most I have had when out to dinner or lunch! Fabulous recipe!

We liked them. They were great but too time consuming. I would also recomend adding some pepper and season salt to the batter.

These were fantastic. My husband and I ate the whole plate (very full). This is a keeper recipe. I used a electric fryer and it didn't get hot enough so I had to cook for a longer time. They were still delicious. I thought putting in one at a time would be a pain, but it went pretty fast. Thanks for the great recipe. Your cookin friend Karen

Very good. Very crunchy. I was wondering if a beer batter would also work - and I saw another reviewer tried the same so I will also next time. I used my deep fryer and fried in bunches. I also did a batch of seasoned and one not. Both were dalish! Thanks for the recipe.

tried with sweet potato fries cut to width of fingers, fried plain for a minute then dipped in batter (1 cup flour, garlic salt, paprika & cayenne to taste mixed with enough water to make syrup-consistency batter - 1/2 cup water?)& fried again for about 3 minutes (until golden brown)- much better than plain sweet potato fries - haven't had luck getting crispy sweet potato fries until now - thanks for the awesome (but fattening) recipe! also tried freezing the left over cooked fries - will pull them out & bake them another night, should be great.

Cassie this batter is AWESOME. I didn't think that something so simply could taste so good! I added a little more seasoning and deep fried veggies. This recipe will travel with me from here on out!

These were the best home made fries. I made the mistake of putting in my deep fryer basket at first and they all stuck to the basket so then I moved to the pan and they came out perfect. My husband said they were better than any restaurant fries.

I LOVED these fries. I made them with Slow Cooker Pulled Pork from this site and they were amazing. The hubby loved them too! I didn't find it to be that much work. While the oil was heating up I coated the first fries, then it wasn't much work to drop the fries individually into the oil. While that batch was cooking I coated the next batch, etc, etc. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because it was very hard to keep the cooked fries hot. By the time all of the fries were cooked most of them were cold. I did add seasoning salt to the batter and cajun spice rather than paprika. Overall I really loved the flavor and crispness of these fries!

This was a good recipe. I didn't use as much salt as recommended. I didnt measure but used onion and garlic powders, paprika and like a pinch of salt b/c there is enough salt in the ketchup we use to dip the fries in. This is great for those with high blood pressure bc you can get the flavor w/out all the sodium. The fries didnt all stay crisp after they cooled but they still tasted good.

Why can't restaurants make fries this good?? It is a bit time consuming because you must watch them like a hawk. But so worth it. I drained them on cooling racks like someone else suggested. Put a cookie sheet underneath to catch the oil.

Wow these are amazing!! They may not be the healthiest things but so delicious! I would compare them to Burger King fries only way better! All I had on hand was garlic powder (used about 1/4 tsp) and salt but we didn't miss the onion or paprika one bit!
