"This easy-to-make soup mix is great to have on hand for those nights when you need to whip up supper in a hurry. It's also a great substitute for canned cream soup in a recipe."

DIRECTIONS
In a food processor or blender, combine all the ingredients; cover and process until vegetable flakes are finely chopped. Store in an airtight container in a cool dry place for up to 1 year.
FOOTNOTE
Editor's Note: Use as a substitute for half a 10-3/4-ounce can of condensed cream of chicken, mushroom or celery soup. For half of a can of soup, in a microwave-safe dish, whisk together 2/3 cup water and 3 tablespoons soup mix. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 2 to 2-1/2 minutes, whisking occasionally. For mushroom soup, add 1/4 to 1/2 cup sauteed sliced mushrooms. For celery soup, add 1/8 teaspoon celery salt or one sauteed sliced or chopped celery rib.

SUPER HINT: Start an "un-shopping" list and add to it all the things you used to buy but that you've found ways to make yourself so you never buy them again. You can make this mix and add to your un-shopping list "canned cream soups". Thanks for submitting this recipe! I had run out of my co-op powdered cream soup mix, and wanted to come up with my own recipe. Decided to check AllRecipes first and found this mix. I wouldn't have thought to add the potato flakes, so thanks for that! Didn't have dried vegetable flakes or chicken boullion granules, so I just used what I had: Seitenbacher brand instant, all natural vegetable broth mix. Tasted just fine! So don't worry if you need to make substitutions...cream soup is cream soup. Just go for it!

This recipe is a staple in my house....I use dried celery for the vegetables (chop celery very fine, lay out on plate for 24 hrs to completely dry, or put in oven with light on). I also add 1/2 tsp garlic powder. This recipe is so handy for two people...add cheddar cheese for a quick topping for broccoli or cauliflower.

This was great. I followed recipe as written except I cut it in half. The finished product is tasty even with no added ingredients. Never again am I going to buy the canned stuff just because I'm in a hurry!

I LOVE the idea of this! I have been looking for a soup mix that I could have on hand w/o msg and other chemicals. I just need to figure out where to get dried vegetables! I'll follow up when I do try the recipe.
