Really enjoyed these burgers on the grill... be sure to use enough oil on the foil to prevent sticking. Light mayo and some Provolone and we had a great summer meal!

First let me say I am not a fan of most veggie burgers, but I am trying to lose weight, and go meatless for a meal or 2 a week to cut down on fat. I made this pretty much as written, used pepper and onion stirfry mix well drained in a food chopper, and used Mrs Dash steak seasoning, as it had most of the ingredients of your seasonings, added a bit more cumin. They came out perfect, didn't stick, formed patties very well, while a bit dry adding some light mayo to the burger made it quite tasty, flavor stayed for a long time. Thanks for posting I think I will make some and keep in the freezer.

NO complaints! This was absolutely delicious. I forgot the hot sauce in the recipe, but there was plenty of flavor (I did add just a little salt and pepper to taste prior to adding the egg). I topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickles, just like I would a regular burger. The flavor was good enough, though, that you wouldn't HAVE to add anything. I added the beans to the food processor, after the pepper/onions/etc. were chopped well. I had no problems with the burgers falling apart or sticking to the pan, as others have mentioned. I used non-stick cooking spray on my baking sheet. I'm wondering if some reviewers didn't mash the beans up enough to get a pasty texture. I will make this again...and again!!!

So delicious! I've never had black bean burgers before and I was so pleasantly surprised. The flavor reminded me a little of falafel (I think it's the cumin), but falafel is one of my favorite foods, so no complaints!

Absolutely delicious. Drying off the black beans after rinsing them really helps them stick together better. I like the spice, but think it could still use a little more kick.

Love these burgers. I use two eggs and probably 1 cup of bread crumbs, and I think they're perfect. I have tried both grilling on aluminum foil and frying, and both are good, although the burgers are a little harder to deal with when frying. I top them with with store-bought hot and spicy mayo, a little ranch, cheddar, lettuce, and guacamole. Salsa is also good on them, but seriously, it's worth the extra effort to put the guac on. Also, I make five patties instead of four because I think they're too mushy in the middle if you make them that thick.

these were difficult to cook. I froze them and tried grilling, frying, and baking. Good flavor though.

I used two eggs like some reviews suggested I then had to add an extra 1/2 cup of bread crumbs to accomodate for the extra liquid; they stayed together perfectly. I didn't have chili sauce on hand so I used ketchup and it worked fine. Will definitely make again!

These are delicious and so easy to make! I've never had any problems with them falling apart, but I don't own/use a food processor to chop the green pepper and onions.

A couple of my burgers fell apart while cooking, but I did vary the recipe a little bit. They don't taste quite close to meat, but overall, the taste was GREAT!

I didn't notice the other reviews that said to use 2 eggs, but I didn't quite have enough bread crumbs, so it worked out fine with just 1 egg. I think I probably had 1/3 cup of bread crumbs, which meant that the burgers were still nice and moist and good. :)

YUM! I made this *for the second time* last night. I have to be honest and say the first time around it didn't work out too well. I dont own a food processor so I chopped the onions and what not but not finely enough.. secondly I didn't heed the other reviewers recommendation on using two eggs. They came out dry and chunky (not in a good way). But last night I decided to re do this recipe at friend's house. I still chopped the onions and peppers (finely this time). Instead of bell peppers I used 2 seeded jalapenos. I used two eggs instead of one. I ended up needing half of another can of black beans. I also added a tea spoon of cayenne pepper. Once I had them ready to go in the oven I cracked some black pepper on the top- and the same when I flipped them. I served them actually on a piece of toast (open face) with a champagne garlic mustard and three slices of avocado... let's just say I found myself writing out the recipe several times last night for several friends.

Great alternative to regular burgers! I omitted the Thai chili sauce (didn't have any) and added a packet of Lipton Onion Soup mix. We ate them without a bun and topped with salsa and sour cream. I'll definately make these again.

Girlfriend loved them...I kind of compared the taste to that of the veggie burgers found at a well-known Burger franchise - and found them missing a bit. Overall though - given the health aspect vs beef burgers - they were GREAT!

These were wonderful. I made sure the beans, onions, and peppers were very well drained and all excess moisture gone. I used 2 eggs instead of 1 and used 3/4 cu of crushed Ritz crackers instead of 1/2 cup of bread crumbs. I baked them and they were great, much better than other black bean burgers that I buy. The rest of the family loved them as well.
