These are yummy indeed. I used two eggs and had no problem with the sticking together. For lunch the next day I mashed up two leftover patties and fried them up in a little oil to put them on a flour tortilla as a burrito. That was delicious.

These were great burgers. Made one change; I'm not a huge fan of green peppers, so I substituted with a jalapeno. At Trooworld's suggestion, I served these on whole wheat buns with pepper jack cheese, avocado slices and roasted red peppers. Wonderful! Thanks for a great veggie burger, Lauren!

Very good black bean burgers! I made just as described and they turned out great. I quartered the recipe to make only 1 burger and man was it a whopper (no pun intended). It was huge, and I felt very full and satisfied. Served with a cup of hearty tomato soup.

We've made these three times now and they are a hit. The first time, I tried to fry them and they just fell apart. 2nd and 3rd time, I've baked them. I made sure and pressed the water out of the veggies through a sieve and I think that helped hold them together. After formed, I put the patties in the freezer for about 10 minutes to firm up. Once baked, we put them on whole wheat buns with avocado, pepper jack cheese, lettuce and tomato.

YUM!!! I just made these for dinner and I LOVE them... even my picky 2 year old likes them. She keeps saying, "mmmm..." when she takes a bite. The only change I made was adding oatmeal instead of bread crumbs and some cilantro. Delicious!!!

Just made these for dinner. TERRIFIC! Best black bean burger recipe by far. Just press the onions and green peppers into the sieve to release the juices. I followed the recipe step by step. I will make again. Yummy.

Wonderful! I made sure to get all of the water out of the veggies like earlier posts and had no problem with consistency. I did add a sauce that brought it all together: 1 chopped roasted red pepper, mayo, and cilantro pureed until creamy. yummy!

These were pretty tasty! I absolutely hate peeling cloves of garlic though so I need to find a substitute for that. I baked these to make them healthier and they were delicious. The leftovers held well too!

I kept the ingredients the same, but changed up the method a little. I pureed the beans in the blender (MagicBullet, actually) with the eggs and finely chopped the onion and green pepper, and used garlic powder instead of fresh (about 1/2 teaspoon). I baked them in the oven as directed. My family -- including three picky kids and a picky husband -- LOVED them! My husband, who is a self-proclaimed veggie-burger-hater said they were better than beef. In fact, he heated up a leftover one tonight after having a "REAL" beef burger and said that the black bean burger was better BY FAR!!! I will absolutely use this recipe again and again! THANK YOU!!!

I added some cheddar cheese, microwaved to set the egg then wrapped it in a tortilla then I toasted it all in a frying pan. I heeded the previous post that said to strain the veggies and dry the beans and the texture was great.

These were tasty, but a little dry. I think next time I will serve with lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. Maybe even some salsa.

These are fantastic! I'm the only vegan in my house and I have been looking for a recipe for "burger night". This is it. I love it! I put them in the freezer and even cook one now and again to crumble into a taco salad. YUM!

Very yummy! I made them for my DH's mom, and she loved them! We don't have a grill, but I baked them in the oven for 22 minutes at 375 degrees: 10 minutes on one side, then 12 on the other. I'll be making these for my own mom next! Thanks for a great recipe.

YUM! I can't stand the taste of the processed veggie burgers found in the supermarket. These are out of this world. Froze the patties and took them camping. Cooked perfectly over the charcoal grill. Thank you!

Amazing!! I used a jalapeno instead of a bell pepper and used ritz crackers instead of bread crumbs. Following the advice of another review, I also used two eggs and squuezed the liquid out of the processor mix. Topped with sour cream ,cilantro and salsa, they were just wonderful!!

These tasted good. I think the trick is to not over process your veggies. You just want them finely chopped not pureed (I did mine a little to long). I also froze them before cooking which helped keep them together.

These burgers are very tasty, especially with tomatoes, cheese, and mushrooms! I substituted kidney beans for the black beans, and they still tasted great. My only problem was that they were a little too wet before they were cooked, which made it a bit difficult to make the mixture into burgers (even though I thoroughly dried the beans after rinsing and added extra breadcrumbs).
