I made these the way it was written the first time and they were very good. However, I have since then made some changes that made them fabulous for my tastes. I did add an extra egg, I don't put in the fresh veggies I use powdered to flavor(just easier for me) I also changed the spices to better suit the flavor I was looking for. I am not vegetarian, I just wanted a healthier substitute for my primary addiction(cheeseburgers) as I am on a strict diet now. I use liquid smoke, worchestershire sauce, and beef bouillion to flavor the burgers to get a beefier flavor. I also plan to use oat flour instead of bread crumbs next time I make these to make them even better for you. Hopefully they will still turn out good. These satisfy my craving for a burger every time, and this is healthy to boot. LOVE and highly recommend this recipe even for meat lovers like me.
