INGREDIENTS
1 tart apple, peeled and shredded
1/2 cup cooked brown rice
2 tablespoons grated onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/2 teaspoons rubbed sage
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
1 pound lean ground turkey

DIRECTIONS
In a bowl, combine the first 10 ingredients; mix well. Crumble turkey over mixture and mix well. Shape into eight 1/2-inch-thick patties. In a large nonstick skillet coated with nonstick cooking spray, cook patties for 4-6 minutes on each side or until juices run clear.

Nutritional Analysis: One patty equals 111 calories, 5 g fat (1 g saturated fat), 45 mg cholesterol, 348 mg sodium, 6 g carbohydrate, 1 g fiber, 10 g protein. Diabetic Exchange: 2 lean meat.

Excellent! I made a triple recipe. Fried them up and have them in the freezer for a quick breakfast. (Just pop one right from the freezer into the microwave for 2 min.) Also, if a few specks of green or red don't bother you, don't bother to peel the apples. I using the tubes of ground turkey, you might need to add an egg for a better consistency.

I loved thie reipe, it's not too bland nor is it too strong like some of the sausage you get in the store ( ***or butcher shops***)
