Holiday Eggnog Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Mix the sugar and flour together in a mixing bowl. Beat in the eggnog, eggs, and vanilla to make a smooth mixture. Stir in the butter. Pour into the prepared pie crust.
  3. Bake in preheated oven until the custard is set, 35 to 40 minutes. Cool before serving.

Excellent pie. Easy to make. I used a deep dish frozen pie shell and had too much filling, so be careful not to over flow. I also had to increase baking time to 55 minutes. This pie sliced up nicely and tasted great. I've already been asked for the recipe.

I wasnt thrilled with this pie. I am a HUGE egg nog fan and the pie turned out more like a sweet egg keish. It tasted fine but I knew that the only people that would like it would probably be my mom and I. I also cooked it for an hour and it still didnt have the right texture that I wanted. I ended up just throwing it away. This recipe may work for others it definatly sounded good to me but just didnt turn out in my favor. Also be sure that the people you are serving it to like egg nog. I may someday attempt it again just to see if it was something I did wrong or its just the recipe (I did fallow it exactly).

I made this recipe for my family and everyone thought it was really good. I would have given it 4 stars if it weren't for the fact that the custard overflowed the pie crust once it was in the oven and I had to put cookie sheet underneath it to catch all the overflow. So, a little messy but still good.

the end result was good, however the cooking time was longer than what the recipe called for---when i was pulling the pie out the oven, the center was still very much liquid and spilled...completely unexpected---definitely had to bake it longer. overall, i enjoyed the's delicious :)

Would have given this a 5-star rating had I not modified it based on reading so many earlier reviews, but it is delicious! I skipped the crust altogether and just sprayed a pan with Pam. Then I baked it in a bath or pan of water for almost 60 minutes. It turned out like a flan. One reviewer thought that it lacked in flavor, so I added 2 tablespoons of dark rum as I had no bourbon or brandy on hand. Thanks to the other experienced bakers out there for so many forewarnings for my consideration!

I made this Pie using 2 cups of Vanilla Egg Nog and less sugar only one cup and I increased the flour to 1/2cup I also baked it in a spring form pan to avoid any over flowing.It came out nice and firm I top it with cool whip and Everybody Loved it. Thanks

I made this just the way the recipe said to, and it was wonderful. I took it for Christmas dinner and received a ton of compliments. It tasted just like eggnog!

Great Recipe! I used a 9.5 inch pie to avoid the run over that other reviewers complained of and sprinkled the pie with nutmeg prior to baking. I also used a hand mixer to make sure that all of the ingredients were beaten together extremely smooth. The pie was perfect. Next time I'll back it like a creme brulee in a waterbath without the crust.
