This is the best cranberry recipe! I made this for Thanksgiving and it was almost gone before dinner. I didn't have ginger or cloves so I just used some pumpkin pie spice that I had in the cupboard and it turned out perfect! I can't wait for Christmas now. Thanks for the recipe!

I have made this recipe a few times at Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. In fact, I just finished making a batch! We use it as a condiment with our turkey dinner instead of canned cranberry sauce. BTW, I cut back just 1/4 c. on the sugar and use granny smith apples.

This is a wonderful dish. i cut back on sugar as some have suggested. To make it a bit spicy I added a pinch of red chilli powder. Those of us that like spicy food enjoyed it.

Wonderful! Thanksgiving is very big at our house and I make sure to include this recipe. Not only does it taste wonderful, it makes the house smell divine for guests! We serve it over cream cheese and crackers. The only person who did not like this recipe was my sister- she said it was like eating potpourri. Too aromatic for her. I love it though.

I am definately making this for Thanksgiving. Even my kids liked it. I only used about a half cup of sugar and a granny smith apple and served over cream cheese.

Yummy recipe! Thank you for sharing, Cheryl. I took this to a potluck and it was devoured. To make it a little more healthy, I used half Spenda and half sugar. I have plenty left over for Thanksgiving. I might take other peoples advice and make it for friends/neighbors around the holiday. It also smells wonderful when it's cooking. Yummy!

Cheryl, you are the Cranberry Queen! Here I sit, on the morning of our Thanksgiving here in Canada (October 12), and I'm in heaven! I wasn't sure about this recipe but was committed to diverting from the standard berries, water, sugar combination no matter the cost. I stayed with your recipe for the most part, though was shooting more for a cranberry apple sauce so used two Granny Smith apples and reduced the sugar by a modest 1/4 cup. Again, I wasn't sure about the idea of serving the chutney on crackers with cream cheese, but I had some cream cheese left over from making a cheese cake so decided to give it a try on regular Ritz crackers. Yes! Absolutely divine, no doubt about it. I used all the spice called for in the recipe, and with some tripidation I must say, but I've no regrets at all. The reviewer who insists that the spice is overpowering and that the use of cream cheese is a waste of time because the spice drowns the flavor? Balderdash! It's sublime. Highly recommended. And a Happy Thanksgiving to you Cheryl!

Festive, quick and easy. I've served it four times since I found this recipe on Thanksgiving. The fourth was y request! It's easy, quick and tasty and it's even better when fresh cranberries are in season.

This was a big hit at both T-giving & Xmas dinners. I reduced the sugar by a 1/4 cup - as when I originally made it, it was a tad sweet for me.
