I LOVE chicken salad, and this recipe is fantastic! Couldn't wait the one hour to chill, so I ate it immediately after I made it. Put it on sourdough bread. Sooo heavenly! I followed the recipe exactly. However, being the impatient (and 5 months pregnant) person that I am, I included one shortcut: I just added 3 bags of the Purdue (or Tyson) cooked chicken strips found in the meat section of the grocery store. I cut the strips into cubes and threw them in. I'm sure the same could be done with a rotisserie chicken as well. That way, you save yourself the step of cooking the chicken. Can't wait to have it for lunch tomorrow!

It was good but needs more flavor. It's an extra step but marinating the chicken in olive oil, orange juice, minced garlic, onions, salt, pepper gives the dish a little more of a substantial flavor. Also saute the chicken in a pan with a little olive oil and butter.

Better than I was expecting!!! This is the ONLY recipe I'll use from now on. As per another reviewer, I seasoned chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder and then grilled on my George Foreman. I used a seasoned salt recipe from this website and substituted dried tart cherries. I served it with baguette slices at a party and EVERYONE asked for the recipe.

I made this recipe with high hopes. I added apples and grapes just as suggested but honestly they were the only thing that I liked. LOL. There was just something about it that my family didn't care for. I guess I could see why some others might love it but it just wasn't our thing. Hence the 3 stars. Sorry.

Delicious! Hubby even ate it, and he does not like Chicken Salad! Opted out of the celery, added more bell pepper, and left some chunks to make it crunchier!

Definitely make this the night before.I used 2 chopped granny smith apples instead of celery, red onion instead of green, & walnuts instead of pecans (all ingredients I had on hand). No green pepper. Everyone wanted the recipe.

I tried this tweaked: omitted onions, bell pepper, and pecans, added a granny smith and grapes...but didn't like the mayo dressing. So then tried it with a sour cream and fresh dill dressing...still didn't like it. So I think I just don't like chicken salad. As far as they go, this is probably a good recipe, and I'm just a lousy judge.

Really tasty! I used leftover turkey from Thanksgiving and omitted the green pepper. It was a bit salty for me, so next time I will cut back on the seasoning salt. Otherwise it was really good. I will try it with chicken next. Served it over lettuce.

I was looking for something differant to do with leftover turkey and my regular chicken salad recipes doesnt go to well with turkey so i tried this one.I reduced the servings to 3,used leftover turkey, light mayo and followed the recipe to a "T".I put in about 1 tbls spoon more of mayo (a little dry for my taste) but other than that i thought it was awesome.I will be addeding this to my recipe book.next timei will try some apple in it.Thanks for a great recipe!

EXCELLENT recipe! I omitted the green onion and green pepper (my family doesn't like), and cut down a little on the mayo and cranberries. Didn't have any seasoning salt (I was out of it) and just used plain salt and fresh cracked pepper. I also used some dill as someone else suggested and it turned out FABULOUS! This is the best chicken salad recipe I have ever made! Thank you thank you for this recipe!

Great! If you are not a fan of mayo (and want to increase the nutritional value) you can use 1 cup of nonfat plain yogurt instead - sounds strange but works!

Very, very good. I left out the green peppers as a personal preference and used rotisserie chicken, otherwise used the recipe as written.

I have been making chicken salad like this for a long time and it is delicious! I add red grapes with the dried crans, and since I have been adding my "secret" ingredient, it has gotten even more raves. I add one teaspoon of Chinese Five Spice Powder. Nobody can identify the special addition, but if you try it, you'll see just how much it improves the taste. It is indescribable!
