This was a home run! Made it for gifts (small loaves= less cooking time) then another batch for us. I used mixed fruitcake fruits, also cut down egg yolks to 3 and used margarine rather than butter. Canadian whisky instead of bourbon. Gets better every day.

("The directions are not on incomplete")What does this frame mean? Improper english. I think what you ment to say is;"The directions are incomplete". But realy they are. Read # 3 again more carefully, it tells you when to add every thing. However, it seems the cook temperature & or time for the size of the pan needs to be alittle higher & or longer. @ 2 1/2 hrs, my cake is still not done, it's only cooked about 1/2 way. have yet to taste it for the taste review. The 3 stars are for the easy way it is to make it.

THe directions are not on incomplete, they are confusing. NEVER does it tell you that you need to combine step #2 ingredients with step #3 ingredients. And although the recipe calls for Molasses, no where in the directions does it tell you to ADD it into the batter. These two faults cost me a lot of money in wasted food!
